Guys,

There are 2 interstate 95 exits for Walterboro SC. The exit numbers are 53 and 57. The majority of the motels and restaurants are at exit 53. The Deluxe Inn that James noted above is at Exit 53 adjacent to the Longhorn Steakhouse Restaurant. The race lake is located north directly at exit 62. Signs will be posted by early on Friday morning to the lake.

This area is not a Savannah or a Charleston area (not big city but a small country town area) and the motel costs reflect that. A decent motel can be easily obtained for 40.00 or less per night. No need to break the bank. Let us know if there anything else you need.

We stayed in Walterboro back in June for the HP race and the people at the hotel and restaurants actually acted like they were glad we were there! It was a pleasant change from some of the other places I've stayed.

One week to the cut off date. With 60 boats entered as of today this race is approaching the totals hit by races offering all classes, gas & nitro. As usual at the big races the FL boys are leading the ENTRIES even ahead of the host state! Get those entries in!

Hey what's the deal. I was hearing that Jimmy Eddleman, David Ashmore, the Shavers were coming, and the Lapps Racing Team. I haven't seen their name on the entry list. Anybody talked to them recently? I hear all this talk about people coming but I don't see the entries. You guys getting cold feet?

For anyone else thinking about entering, the guys that have entered so far are the best of the best(minus James Clegg), they ARE the benchmark in tunnel boat racing. If you outrun these guys then you have really done something. If for nothing else, I would enter this race just to run against these guys. Not only are they fast but they are fun to hang out with too. Just ask anyone who has raced in district 13 before, we always have a great time.

Who has Martin Tidwell's phone number?

I have his old number. He has moved since I talked to him last. I have heard that Martin has been running his 11cc tunnel over there in your area. Somebody get him on the phone and tell about the race. He typically has a fast 11cc boat.

David Ashmore and Jimmy Eddelman need to bring there boats to the race and auction them off if they are not going to attend a all tunnel race in their own back yard.

Oh, and where is Steve Cirmella, Allan Amick & Harry Harper??? They are all from that area.

John Brown should be there too. We want to see that Mac Attack setup he has.

I know of 11 tunnel boaters in SC that are not entered in this race and they are all aware of it. We may have to rent a van, go around and kidnap them to get them here! Six of them are only a little over an hour away from the pond. I don't know what it's going to take to get these guys out. Everyone has known of this race since June and I just sent another reminder out on Friday.

A big Thank You!! to all the boaters from outside our district that have supported our races this year and are helping make this THE tunnel event of the year.

Great! If you can get him to the race I doubt he'll be able to stay away much longer. I talked to Jon Harter this morning and he's putting together a 40 tunnel for next year and it looks like he'll be at some of the races in '06. I think he'll also be in Walterboro to see what's going on.
