Good morning boaters!

Working with this new system there are a few things we need to work out with them. Though it showed on the site that entries would open on 2/18/2023 at 7p ET they opened sometime this morning (can't be sure when). To ensure people who set their alarm for 6:50p ET tonight to get online to do their entry have a fair shake at getting in the entries have closed.

You'll notice right now it shows 2/19/2023 at 7p ET. Don't sweat it. Those entries will be opened at 7p ET tonight.

Due to higher than expected demand, an additional heat has been added to select classes and waitlist racers, if any, have been approved into the class. Those classes are:
  • LSG 27 Mono
  • LSG 36 Mono
  • LSG 36 Sport Hydro
  • Super Sport Mono
  • Crackerbox
If you do not have four class entries you can be added into classes. If you have four classes but would like to swap into one of the above you may. In both cases please contact Rick & Kim Grim by email at [email protected] or by phone at (256) 626-0859.

Those who are interested in who has entered a particular class you can go here to see: EventConnect.

Understand that EventConnect was introduced to us through the City of Huntsville to evaluate for our needs. It admittedly is not a purpose-built RC entry system. It was built for athletic events so there are several things that seem a little out of place or the terminology does not line up. That's something they have agreed to work with us on to expand the systems capabilities. It does, though, do many things that other entry systems do not including separating add-on items from entries, facilitating hotels at a discount, and providing messaging capabilities through both email and text message. At the event you can expect to see text message announcements of things like heat consolidation as a second means of notification backing up the PA system. Very shortly you'll also soon see the mobile app for our boating events that complements the system.

Entries for the 2023 NAMBA Nationals will also be taken via EventConnect with the site coming up soon and entries starting in just over 30 days.

As always, the best way to know who has entered the event is to be at the event and we look forward to seeing you there!

Hey Chris,
I am trying to add on to my entry. I would like to take one of the last 2 spots left as of now for gas scale. The site will not allow me to enter without redoing the whole registration process and paying for another $40 registration fee. Let me know what I need to do please.

Thanks,
Mike

Good day Mike,

Yes, the process for this event is currently locked down requiring you add the event registration during and attempt to add classes. I see you currently have three classes so would be happy to add you to to Gas Scale and you will receive notification when it is done. That will be a little later today.

IMPBA Gas Nats Racers,

Saturday March 18 is the last day to get entries in for the 2023 IMPBA Gas Nats. If you have already registered you will be allowed to have a maximum of 5 boats entered, so you can add as many as necessary to get to 5 on Saturday. We will only take entries to fill the remaining space in classes that are not full. Once a class fills up you can be put on the wait list, but no additional spaces will be created. This means we cannot guarantee everybody will be able to add classes as we wrap this up.

How do you add entries?
  1. Go to RaceDayOnline.com
  2. Click Login at the top right corner and use the email address and password you created when you first entered
  3. Click "Register" for the 2023 IMPBA Gas Nats event
  4. Click to Register Participant then choose "Myself" and follow the next two steps verifying your account information
  5. Choose the Class(es) to add and then follow the process through to payment
EVENT T-SHIRTS

You will notice that you can now purchase event t-shirts online. Shirts are $25 each for all sizes.

HOTEL ROOMS

There are two event hotels to choose from with two more in the contract process. We will message you as hotels become available. We ask that you help us by booking your hotel through the site. It helps us meet our commitments to EventConnect for using the platform.

If you have any questions or need help, please reach out to Rick Grim at (256) 656-0859 or [email protected].

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it to this. I am heading to a Jeep Jamboree event. Hopefully one of the Michigan guys can bring my 1/6 scale home.

Anyone from or around Michigan going to the gas nats and willing to transport a 1/6 scale for me? I heard from Chris Herzog, that says Mike Betke is no longer going?
