    NAMBA legal Sport Hydro?

I know that this hull would not be legal in IMPBA Sport Hydro classes (rear vents), but what is the opinion on whether it legal in NAMBA nitro sport hydro classes. I am assuming that the picklefork set-back meets the 25% rule (I have not seen this hull in person to measure it) Thanks in...

    Castle HV Phoenix controllers

Hey guys - read it again. :D This is not the Barracuda 125 I'm talking about. This is a whole new series of ESC designed for ultra high power and high voltage - 50 volts (36 cell nimh or 12S lipoly) and three amp capacities (45 A, 85 A & 110 A)

    Castle HV Phoenix controllers

Castle has officially introduced the Phoenix HV (high voltage) controllers http://www.castlecreations.com/ They are posted as being back-ordered for 2-3 weeks, however I saw the 85 amp model at my local electric specialist hobby shop today (he had already sold the 110 amp one that he had as...

FE 1/8th scale make it a legal class or not

Hi Guys Remember, if you are writing rules that spec maximum pack voltage, you MUST specify how and when this voltage is read. There will be a huge variation in pack voltage between under load, no load, hot off the charger, etc. etc. The only viable method is to accept pack voltage as mfg...

    Climate Vintage shovel nose

Hi Spuds The Raptor was never actually available for sale as a kit from Climate (or anyone else). It came close to being on the market but in the end I decided against it. It was a fairly complex kit (a lot of parts) which made it expensive to produce and coupled with, therefore, the limited...

Any Large Hulls for fast electrics?

himmelman A 46" Deep Vee is a very large DV to power and run relatively quickly using electric power. Also the stock gas Warehouse Hobbies hulls would be quite heavy for electric. Most racers who use nitro racing hulls in electric classes have special light-layup made for them by the mfg. The...

    Climate Vintage shovel nose

Riggerman You have definitely picked a winner in the Climate Vintage Shovelnose hydro (also known as the Campbell Vintage shovelnose). This kit is an extremely well-designed hydro that can be built with as much scale detail as you want and is as equally at home on the racecourse or the weekend...

    Questions about E-RCU 1/10 Hydros

Jim On the subject of potential motors, I was interested to see that Astro is now making a sensorless brushless 25 and 40. The 4 turn 25 has a Kv of 2044 which would put it right on the money for 12 cells. It sells (from Astro) for the same price as the brushed cobalt 25 (airplane version) -...

    Questions about E-RCU 1/10 Hydros

I find myself becoming more and more interested in 1/10 scale hydro racing. For those not familiar with this Westcoast club and their marvelous machines, here is a link to some pictures of their latest regatta/race. http://photobucket.com/albums/v604/JimClar...plug%20Regatta/ Jim - Have you...

    Who's using Lipo's

It would seem to me that all this talk about the potential disastrous effects of getting LiPo packs wet (and then leaving them wet for days  ) is merely skirting the most basic issues of - 1. keeping water out of your LiPo battery packs and even more basic - 2. keeping water out...

    Who's using Lipo's

Joe I know that Dick Crowe has used them. Closer to home, The CAFE crowd, meaning Kelly Brooks, Alan Nayman and Photohoward are the ones to talk to. I know for sure that they have recently run them in their Offshore boats.
