Ya I think that BVM needle helped! Or we just got lucky with the setting?

Was a perfect day zero wind, good to pick up the little quirks in her ride.

Blew up the throttle servo?? Think they came outta my FW-190D that didn't make it back to the field.

Gonna get some fresh ones from now on.

She ran a few times holding by the cup of the turn fin!

Still lots of testing and tuning to go.

Got about a gallon threw her! Kinda cool since it was a rush build!

Figure done for this season! Gonna oil and bag the Testa Verde and start to look forward to the scale details!

Also gonna pick up a 2'x4'sheet of .008'' annealed stainless steel 300 series to build ourselves a couple of fuel tanks.
Sounds good, I'm still amazed you both even got them wet this year, good job!

Need some stainless too!

Figure some time this week to get that SS order in!

2'x4'sheet of .008'' annealed stainless steel 300 series. $75can @ 2'x4'

OUCH!!!

Damm expensive stuff!, And they got a min order @ $150 at that place,,,So price per sq/foot = a 24"x96" slice.

Ok back at her now! Picked up Decking materials and begun to lay down the planking.

Sticky finger stuff

Notice all the Zap traces on the wood aft area.

Forward area has been sanded up clean.

Will tape up to protect as I move on.

You know I oftened wonder how guys did that on those type of decks, thanks for sharing with us. Is it realatively easy or is it a pain to do?

Ya it's a pain to do!

But should be worth it.

Wood planking is Mahogany 1/4"x.060x24" strips. And the White Clalking is Styrene strips From Evergreen plastic supplies.

The Wood was a real pain to find! Tree huggers got Mahogany on some no export list now days! But Rudy finally spotted some on Ebay and I got a good supply!

I had to cheat doing the edge strip that curves around the bow.

Tried to bend but no luck that grain is not straight so it kept splitting even after a week in Viniger?

Maybe there is a better way to soften up this type of wood for bending? Hmm?

Ammonia darn I knew that one at one time! getting old . Thanks Bob!

So about done with decking and go figure ran out of the plastic strips. Used up 1400 inches so far

Sooooooooo lucky here got a perfect fit along the drop down sponson edge!

And also along the Engine bay opening

This is the only issue that don't fit it's the transom area where the hull contours inward toward the transom.

Gotta get sanded and that's that

Still have to do the area around cockpit / hatch.

Decal set ordered from Wes!

So ended up buying a new pipe,

Got the Mac 13cc Tuned pipe and Rudy and I installed a internal stinger 7/16"ID

Was a bit of work drilling out the end of the Mac pipe to accept the brass tube. We heated the pipe it's a press fit.

This gives me a lot more room for mounting the exhaust tube clean out the Transom.
