I sold a Topspeed 2 complete with K&B motor and radio (RTR package) to ebay user faribolo (Located in france). While the product was being shipped this impationt guy put a claim on me(I didnt respond in the time period, 10 days) and now he has my money and my boat! I tried contacting him by email and through ebay NOTHING! Pay pal will not do anything , because its been over 10 days. So I will not do business with pay pal any longer. Whatch out guys. Ill post pics of the boat.

A lot of parcel post carriers won't even do business with anyone in France but you may have found that out. Unfortunately there are a lot of scammers there. You'd think that Nigeria is at the top of the scammer list yet France has more than their share of them.

Forget eBay and sell your stuff right here or on one of the many other RC boat forum sites but even these can be buyer beware at times. State in your ads that your item will be shipped to US or Canadian addresses only.

Sorry to hear about you getting burned as clowns like this can make it bad for others. We tend to trust fellow RC boaters too much at times. This scumbag will probably sell the boat to someone else in France.

Contact ebay too! And the police.

Don't give up on Paypal yet. Keep on bugging them until they give up.

If you give up, you've lost.

I been down that road ebay and paypal wont do a thing thats why i refuse to use ebay and paypal

Nothing outside of the continental U.S. I won't go near of, selling or buying. If something does go wrong at least you still have our court system to work with on things of that nature. If any kind of transaction outside of our US goes bad, international courts have to become involved and what a mess. You might as well forget it.

Makes me angry to hear things like Tim just went through because you know them rats like that think they get away with it, but really they don't. I have never prospered by stealing and don't know anyone who has - at least for very long.

sorry to hear about your loss .i sell a lot on ebay they will not let you sell on there if you don't have pay pal. and there fee are getting unreal pay pal always side with the buyer.i have lost money too them more then one time!!!!! never ship outside the us always get a tracking # and ins. and now if you have less the 100 + feedback pay pal will put a hold on your money until the person has there item .i am about done with e bay i have never sold any thing on this site but have had good luck selling on others. this is a nice site will list on here next i have some to sell

eBay used to be fun but now its expensive like Joe just mentioned. USPS rates have gone way up due to gas costs, and paypal and ebay fees take a big chunk out of what you think your actually getting for cash.

It's funny how everything pushed towards internet shopping and now they almost accomplished it by wiping out mom and pop stores for the same things...then they jack up the shipping rates and transaction fees. Crooks everywhere now and really hard to get a straight deal out of anyone or anything. Seems now everyone gets their hands into your pocket no matter what direction you go, and there's becomming less and less we can do about it.

I would like to see Tim get his boat and/or money back for all of us to see and I really hope it happens. Not just for him but for everyone else who stays honest.

Why is this so hard, get your money, THEN send the product, we all deal with people we know, and we may give them the benefit of the doubt, but if you dont know the dude, get the cash, fees, postage, or screw them.

IF by paypal, make sure the money is in your account, PERIOD.

even transfer it to your personnel account (2 days). B)

I had the same issue with a buyer in Italy. Now I only ship internationally with traceability or take payment by MO. I state in my eBAy ad that international shipping is minumum $20 for Int'l priority mail. Even if it is a $2 item. Sorry to hear about your loss. But you also must answer any paypal inquiry immediately with the tracking number.

I just sold a boat and shipped it to France. I posted USA ONLY and this guy begged me to sell it to him. When I got my paypal there said they were going o to hold it 21 days or till the the buyer was satisfied . Im done with all of that....

Neeedless to say that "F" in dude got the boat and his money back. Since 10 days went by Pay Pal closed the case and will do NOYHING other than contact him. It BS! I dont like beeing out $316.50 and a boat!

Hey Tim, sorry to hear what happened.

I have a few problems with ebay & paypal....One, its obvious that ebay is in bed with PayPal. PayPal has been doing payment holds on me, I have 100% positive feedback and yet they are holding my money, which to me, is not what I call a "cleared payment". Your at the mercy of the buyer. Ebay's fees, man I have no idea where they come with their figures but they come nowhere near my figures, I know they make a percentage off your sale, but it doesnt mention how much of a percentage. I depend on the money in my paypal account that the buyer pays for, to purchase shipping labels so i can send the stuff out as timely as possible. Since they put payment holds on me, I'm forced to pay out of pocket, which ends up being substantially more. I closed my ebay & paypal and will deal from now on directly with stores online.

Last week, I sent out a hull that I had on a saturday, that following monday the buyer did a non-reciept of merchandize claim on me too....He even claimed that he emailed me and that I never responded....My god, it was sent out priority mail which takes 2-3 BUSSINESS DAYS. People,,, post offices are closed on sundays and if people would F$^#@! read the payment and shipping terms, the seller is NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING TRANSIT TIMES especially during holidays when there is a heavier flow of mail...But it doesnt matter, paypal will yank your dough right outa the bank in a heartbeat even if the buyer makes a claim against you the same day you send something out, then you got to go through all this hoopla, to get YOUR money back...Who does paypal think they are?

Thing is what I do is I always save my email's and my receipts. I immediately responded back to Paypal and emailed them my tracking numbers and faxed my receipt. I sent copies of his email and my response to Paypal and in a about 4 days they gave my money back, cause he recieved it, but what if he said he didnt get it?

When you mail to Europe you get tracking till it reaches the customs thats it. Ive had no problems shipping to Australia,Canada takes there sweet time after it reaches the border. And if its shipped UPS or Fedez you get charged a fee for a border cross.... I sold a pair of motors to a guy in Italy. He got the motors and my money A hole Still have his email. I have also sold to other guys in Italy with no problems but if you cant hold it in your hand forget it

e bay percentage 9% and pay pal is 4%. only buyers can leave neg feedback on e bay . and pay pal will put a hold on your money until you have over a 100 feedback i have over 700 they try'ed to hold my money i called and they had to give it to me. e bay has be come a total rip off !!!!!!!!!!!

OK, give us his name and address so we can google him. He might be on Facebook or something. Then you can contact his friends. You can probably also find his phone number online and so on...

Be creative! :)

I just wonder, why didn't you respond to PayPal within those 10 days?
