Over the winter I will build a new boat. I chose to build a boat like Whiplash.

I installed CMB90 glow engine.

These combinations on this forum I could find. All WP boats have a gasoline engine.

I wonder whether anyone in the past made such a boat?

What are the settings? What props should I use?

For any advice I will be grateful.

Actually, the Whiplash comes in Sport 20 and Sport 40 nitro versions as well as the gas version. I don't remember if there is a 60 sized or not, someone else in the forum may know. In any case, Brian Blazer is the one to talk to on this boat and, last I knew, he is a member of this forum as well

I think a gas Whip with a 90/101 would be very fast
That you want me too. This boat I work for a ''soul'' and having fun.

I have no ambition to compete.

Currently I have some hydro props. I do not know whether they will fit.

Octura V967 / 3,

Octura 1667 / 2

Octura 2167 / 3

Octura X470 / 2 (66mm dia)

ABC H31 (dia67mm)

ABC 7014 / 2 (66mm dia)

Does anyone have any advice?

The H 31 will work also i think all the props you have will run on it.Just need to test them.

for the engine it will run fast very fast but for the prop dont use prop that have lift

now i building a whiplash with a V-twin200 AMS.(2x16.3cc 23800revs with 14.8 hp)

this is a rebuild A-180V renewed inside liners and pistons.

so the 101cmb wil be no problem.

I would love to see your whiplash with the A-180V!!

koban, the whip is 43'' long so it is ready for a 60 size engine ,the boat should handle the 90, those prop you mention should be good start props, but the v 967 might make the rear end hop. a great gas prop that they are running on the gas whips is the propwest 6719 654-3, DONT BE AFRAID, PUT THAT 90 IN THERE AND LET IT RIP.

We tried the 1667's, 2167/3's, V967/3's on my dads gen1 whiplash and they worked okay. The V967/3 was a handful to drive and had way too much lift. The 1667's where just okay, easy to drive but lacked speed. The 2167/3 worked pretty well but at times in rough water was hard to drive. I ran a 2267 for a while and it ran pretty good. This video is with the 2267. (I was the one that hit the buoy at the end)

I've been building my dads new whiplash and have had a 1.01 set it in, it looks right a home. Andy sent me one of his Freebird sport hydros a long time ago that I started building with a 1.01 but it got put aside for more riggers, might have to dust it off and finish it.

Koban, The last 3 props on your list will work the best. H-31 and the 7014 will be faster than the X470.

I keep looking at a Freebird we have here... and think Twin 90's :D

I watched Marc Grim at the District 19 SAW last month make some 99 MPH passes with a gas powered wood Whiplash. I can only imagine what a nitro powered Whiplash would do. You could see runs in excess of 110 MPH. For heat racing, they are a great handling boat, and way fast.

Please, post a video when you get it finished.
