Looking at buying motor for my 1/10th scale unlimited.

Most people in the club use Leopard 3674.

Has anyone tried one of the eBay off brands?

Here is a specific example. Link

Just curious if it is a cheap copy or, if they are all made b the same company?

There is a guy who reviewed surpass motors on YouTube. Link

They are less than half the price of te Leopard motors but you don't want to save $40 for something that will burn up your esc or your boat.

Any comments?

Leopard quality IMO has gotten better. That said I have tried several cheapo motors with mixed results. Some work well and others have burned down early. If your using something like a $45 Flycolor150 ESC you can gamble and may find a bargain. Here's another link.

I bought a 3660 and 4074. First runs they performed well, Time will tell if they hold up.

I bought a Rocket brand 3674 from ebay. Seemed to have thinner wires and burned up on the second run. I bought a Leopard 3674 same Kv and have been running it ever since. About 25 full battery runs.
Just my experience.

That's what I was looking for. Thanks

I took apart a Surpass/ GoolRC 3680-2280kv motor and you get what you pay for. Rotor is poorly wrapped in kevlar and wire is not that high of quality.
I really like the SSS motors. A little less $$ and just as good as Leopard imo. Less choices on KV.
