Just got back from testing the 40 Tunnel Mic was gracious enough to loan me to get me going.

Lets see if I can get me some Otto at the 2 day race in Brandon to start this thing off properly while the boss is away !!!!!

PS - Anyone involved in getting me running tunnel - I love and hate ya all at once-

BUT these things are fun.

And I used to just think that the outboard motors where just an easy way to pick up dead boats-

Well the count at present is up to 20 drivers and 53 boats. Not sure what the last minute will bring but hoping for 70 plus boats which would be a pretty good start for the tunnel series. Figure 11 -12 heats in a round so we will be able to take a comfortable pace. We had not planned for open water but may have time with the existing turnout. Hearls in now what are the Atwells going to do? Wayne will bring his gas tunnel if theres 3 to make the class? We have tried to make it easy with no prepay required.(pay at the race) Like to get the classes finalled so we can set up heats.

So far we have 5 FE 12 Mod 21 10 Mod45 4 ModVP 3 Open 14 stock/sport 21 4 SS45. 1 Gas

I WILL say , I like the clock management coming too the line , but I got greedy in the 4th heat - SOOOOO CLOSE

And BTW , Im only humble AFTER i toss an A-Hydro in upside down :blink:

[HTV Boats]

I couldn't make both days in Brandon but it was really neat talking to Drew after the race. You would have thought he won the Indy 500. Sometimes I think I get more fun hearing someone's simple joy running a boat I had a hand in building or setting up. He said he'd make the podium and he came through. I think we have a new tunnelmaniac in the hobby. Win or lose I have some equipment for him to run. In SS40 hes got me,Whiddon and Audra to contend with in two weeks and it's gonna be a dogfight with those resticted exhaust motors. Hope we get a couple more in the mix registered this week.

Concentrating on my Mod-V so my B stock will probably get done at the last minute. The last time I raced a last minute boat I won the Spring Nats! But I admit gunning down the TBM in 21 stock is going to be a lot harder to do. The Godfather will not be happy if my HTB shows its transom to all those kitty cats.

We hadn't thought of that. There aren't enough trees to hide behind. Don't want foreign matter floating in the lake and slowing down the lap times either. Maybe I can coax Tom Harris out to photo shoot for us, help build the rivalry. New adventure taking shape good now. Glad to see Jim Slaughter rally the FE troops for it too. My $ on Jeff Westbrook there..

Well Bill has beat the bushes pretty well and even flushed out Gene Mongar for the tunnel event. A few notable names not on the roster but we understand family priorities. Getting down to the wire and just wanted to mention that the working end of the STRA is Bill, Randy and myself. Drew has graciously offered to help and we are sucking him into becoming a tunnelscout. Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated! So any extra hands out there we can use a boost. requires a strong back and weak mind so no one unqualified. This is our initial try to get an outboard event off the ground here in Florida. We have 26 drivers and 63 boats to date and looks like Buddy Lowe will get the long haul freeby entry. Going to be a fun event and we welcome any and all boaters to come cheer us on. Saturdays timmed lap event will put the smack talkers in line and they can redeem themselves in heat racing. The course will be the initial 5 pin turn then we will use the mid course off shore location for the Tri-oval and on to the south end where we will tighten it up by removing the lead and exit bouys. Timmed laps will be on the normal oval. The 10 day forcast is only up to Friday before the race and no rain in the low 70's. Lets hope that holds for a purrrfect race weekend. (had to throw in a cheap Lynx plug) Gettin real close to Boogity Boogity time.

There are only four more days left to get your entries in for the STORM Series Race #1. If you have been dragging your feet to enter, you will need to do it before midnight Monday.

This is turning out to be a who's who of the TBM & Florida tunnel racers, with representation for Georgia (Poole) and Alabama (Lowe) as well. Notably missing is anyone from the Syndicate. (Don't be skeered!)

Still looking for the other half of the Junker crew.

The Atwell's are the only one's with an excused absence. everyone else is AWOL!

PS. To those that have heard the rumors...

The pull from the dark side was much too strong. I have succumbed to the bidding's of Premo, Drake, and whiddon.

Doesn't take much to get some kids excited! I think his mom stole an old tennis ball from the family dog and gave it to him as a pacifier. Everythings been up hill since then. :lol:
