Thanks guys...awsome to drive at those speeds.

it did really well chasing a 45 nitro at one stage, so crossing the wash didnt effect it much.

and yea Ian...lighter fuel load ;-)

Mike, if you are serious I do want to offload this hull as it is not as per my current center section design...I need to be forced to build a new one as per current specs!!!!

Send me a PM

Someone send me a stock/sport 7.5 and I will GLADLY test it out

I am not thinking my old small crank K&B will be good enough ;-)

Kris,

Actually for whatever reason we are finding the old 8701/15mm crank K&B's perform very well. Shane had one at the WTC that was a rocket and I put one on a hull for Jeff Maturo at the Stewart race that runs with my Nelson. Maybe the smaller volume flows better for torque which is what we need to pull props. Also they don't bust cases like the 8702's. (less revs)Get some of those 33's over here and you might open up a new market.

Watched your videos and the boat looks great. If it holds a 1515 "P" motor a can muffler superstock will be easy.

Mic

What props are liked on the 8701 stock motors?? X447 to start with?

You have twisted my arm into testing out a 7.5 on 33" boat :)

Interesting thing about the setup in the video...I was running NO negative maybe even some Positive and the CoG was at just under 30%...prop was also about 3/16" above sponsons...that makes me happy!!!!

My 7.5 38" Dragon is similar...no need to bury the prop to keep the nose down!

Thanks Shane, I have one of those.

Alan, I was running a Nelson (older version) untill I have a suspected broken crank on the weekend. I have a spare crank, but need bearings now :-(

I have a good running 8701 K&B for now...might need to invest in one of those nova 46 motors!

Kris,

On the can muffler we seem to need bigger props to load the heat in the motor and get speed with pitch and lower rpm's. X450 ,1450, 1914 ABC and even Prather 230-235.

Mic

Kris,

Recently we are starting to run more 47x60's and 47x63's on that set up.

The older ABC's seem to work quite well on the 7.5 set ups.

Thanks For Reading,

Mark Sholund

Mic,

You are right, the flow thru the motor is way more important than most realize.

Thanks For The Servo,

Mark Sholund

Shane,

Are you running a can muffler on your 8701?? or the 'stock' lower unit?

I have some more kits coming this week, just in time for xmas holidays! 1 off 38" Dragon, 1off Niitro 21" and 1off Nitro 33"
default_biggrin.png

So far I have a few boats to build

1off 38" NITRO

3off 31" NITRO

1off 33" NITRO

Then there are a few chasing kits, which will be in the new year after i do some final testing on the 33"

1 X 33"

1 X 31"

Below are some pictures of the 33" boat and setup.

It looks like it has huge pickleforks, which it does....they are right at the 29.8% of hull length (30% max rule in NAMBA). next few builds of this boat will have approx 1" longer center section, so will look a bit better

As it sits here in the photos it is a $900USD boat (all new parts) plus lipos and Rx! It really adds up quickly! But they sure are fun to drive.

Not looking to sell right away, but if someone is interested, let me know. I will be looking to offload this hull (bare or complere) around the end of January.
