That sounds like a good idea. Maybe someone has a .21 tunnel or lowerunit to go with the MAC powerhead.

Gang,

Mike called me earlier today and was honestly still in some shock over the events of the past few days and that is understandable. He asked to give his and Shelly's greatest thanks for thinking of them much less doing this fund drive for them. He does not have the words needed to express his gratitude.

The situation with his house is that he still has 2 ft of water in the house and the entire yard and neighborhood is still under water. It was close to 6' in his house and had dropped about 4'. His frig is on top of the kitched counter as it floated up. The water may not recede for about a week or more. It is raining there now and has dumped 1.5" today. Essentially all contents in the house is a total loss. He has lost his computer & monitor and could use a replacement. All TV's and other electronic items are also a total loss. All furniture, furnishings, furnace/AC system, linens, household items are also a total loss. He could not afford the flood insurance so NOTHING is covered. They will have to start over with no $$$ and no insurance and getting no sympathy from the mortgage company other than a 3 month delay for their next payment is due. May be 2 months before his vehicles are replaced.

His attitude is one day at a time and is trying to keep his spirits up. However, that is hard if not impossible. Mike stays with me at our house when we have the tunnel champs race and is quite chipper around race time. A lot of despair and frustration is present now as anyone would expect. His job is a bricklayer and there will little work for a while, a long time quite possibly.

There are over 3K members on this site and he honestly NEEDS everyone to help out. Put yourself in his position and imagine what you would need and can do. I may be going to Iowa for a long time to help him out but cannot get access to the area for a while.

Mike, You have always taken care of me when i had a need.

Id like to offer a set of the rarest Miss Circus Circus U-31 Decals to date. These were privately commissioned by Mr. Bennit, Founder of Circus Circus casino and resort in Las Vegas and Reno Nevada, They came directly from the desk of Mr. Bennit himself.

Guys.... i'm tearin' up.... Shelly and I are extending heartfelt thanks toyouguys through and through.... i'm at marty's in tears at what youve done..... He has stepped up to the plate for me, as many have done.... the few who posted and have ANY idea of procedures with FEMA, ( non existent, yet), the non existence of flood insurance, or any other helpful procedure we can do, PLEASE let us know.... my vehicles are the only thing covered by my insurance, we found out today...... there are thousands of people here in the same situation..... Derek thornton on here too, will have lost his home, and i, have talked with him, and he was required to have flood insurance on a new home sale..... if the city allows free travel he will be around and we'll see his position in this time too......

i'm of a one day at a time scenario, recovered some stuff today....

tommorow marty and i will boat in and recover more......

My boats, i got today, were ok kinda...(oil sludge, and dirt) Marty and I have emergency pickled everything, mechanical wise, my electronics are still under water.......ideas on salvage, are needed... tommorow i'll try and find them in the floating mess........

I am trying to call people as i can that call me..... we are searching for shelter, and priorities, keep overwhelming the communication with some of the best friends I have.......here, and away.... I will get to you please have patience.......

I actually boated in to get my guns today, before some other idiot does..... and finding boats floating around, and the water chest high in my garage, i loaded up everything our club retrieval paddle boat could carry....

i've said it.... i'll not be knocked down.... i've worked hard all my life, my wife has too.... we will get through this.... she has lost a great deal more than I, and crying herself to sleep, rips me up......

i'm standing tall, you guys rock, and i'll extend for now, all the thanks to any, and all that are sending help,

sob story typin is not in my rationale, and I regret even airing, things neednt be.....

i'll try and get on as I can, and appreciate what everyone is doing.... Terry.... you rank, mac daddy..... maybe i will race at mendota!.... Food, shelter, and transport, are job 1, and i'm trying..... see you guys, I cannot express gratitude through a computer.... some of you, i've shaken hands with..... others i will..... i'll be around as i can..... God Bless you all.... Mike
Friends are better than Insurance or FEMA.

If those institutions were not robbing everyone, we'd all have more time and money to help those in need. Weather it be offering cash or helping rebuild your house or coming up with some transportation, providing temporary shelter and so on.

I remember when Katrina hit N.O. There was an immediate parade of private trucks and trailers west bound on I-10 here in Fla. I'll bet those private citizens got a ton of help to those in need long before FEMA did.

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in distress.

thanks to all for helping out mike and family, and we will keep this going on to help out them as much as we can, and anyone wanting to donate that is great just get ahold of me on email and let me know what you want to do, that way i can keep track of who wins what and who did what so we can all thank you personally. you all are the greatest and i have to think if all our 3k members donated just one ticket, how great that would be for them , they could get back on their feet and that my friends would be a true blessing.. you wont find a guy that works harder than mike.. i remember the time i met him .. he came to our club meeting.." the roostertails" and joined knowing that he would maybe not be down alot to test.. but he did it when we needed a retrieve boat "to help us out" .. that is the guy he is.. and i wish that "all" our members would do something for him.. and guys remeber the guy that came down and helped us out with the steps 2 weeks ago.. we should all be thankful for them type of friends.. the only thing he asked for was a bottle of water and directions back to the interstate.. mike larson .. one hell of a great guy.. thanks all.later

The best of luck to Mike and his family, I wish them well.

I was close to a flood in my house also last week. I battled the water and won with minimal damage, but what a sick feeling I had and how could this possibly happen to anyone.

Hang in there Mike, you've got a lot of friends out here.

Pay-Pal sent.

Hey guys!... i'm at marty's logged in... And will say.... i appreciate everything you are trying to do for me....Nowhere, have i seen to this day, a better group of souls... John's post was correct, in my status, for the part, of not affording flood insurance..... we were not in a flood plain, ( and conversely, not required to purchase any, nor offered, or suggested from the mortgage company, that, so graciously has deemed to sue for loss, if we default)), as, were the other 25000 people that didnt have flood insurance.... numbers unbenounced, there are a great many people like me dazed , lost, and without ANY insurance coverage, due to, in my opinion, poor management of the impending disaster. here's the deal, brass tacks... the areas most devastated were low income neighborhoods, by far, besides downtown..... they just do not understand, and will not understand, that, we do not have access to computers right now,(ie;go to Fema . com, go tored cross .com, got to bend over dot com...) shelters to go to, money to purchase things for daily life, most people wake up to everyday..... while this aint a *****, my attitude is turning to frustration at every turn.... as, are my blue collar neighbors that sweat alongside me every day....

the posts here are too heart wrenching for me to begin answering , and i will, in time,

Today, 3 days after this proportional event, the national guard are currently enforcing martial law, and we are at the mercy, of any sunglassed joker wants to know my business in my area....( theyare air guard, not even of our own batalion here,... and after explaining which way north was to a soldier, .i cannot respect a man talks to me with sunglasses on... while, it was illegal, apparantly, and biologically hazardous for me to boat to my house, and make 1, 1 trip back with floating debris, and my guns, now, we will wait, as, over 20 feet of water recedes from my "sector".... and we are alllowed to go back in to our homes and salvage anything left...... personally myself, marty and iwere threatened, with arrest, this morning upon arriving to launch marty's flatbottom to reach my possesions in an everconstant state of rottting.......

So... lemme get this straight.... I cant, go get my insurance policy # for FEMA, my tax/income information, or anything else right fellas?.... How 'bout, my neighbors cat, on the 2nd floor, 4 days without water?

Frustration......too many mountain dews..... on edge, and waiting.....

Terry, you rank, big daddy.... I'll never forget, never...... Helpin the roostertails out is what I do.... WORK. J dub, you take the cake brother..... Chris, Andy, and everyone else sponsored, for me, i cannot express the gratitude enough..... those i know, will get their due.... those i dont, will too... mopar, dont sweat the jacket, you and your old man are cool cats, and were just cold....

4th day, in a futile search for shelter, pets notwithstanding, there 100,000 people here, destitute, and 78,000 just went down in Iowa city 23 miles south of here.... if, i could be ANYWHERE to help, i would.....

we gained enough water pumps to actually shower today.... on even days.... I'm gonna get clean....

i've been having a problem holding my emotions in check when you guys call.... I've missed alot of calls.... have patience......

I wish, I had my usual humor to instill, because a faint smile for anyone would make me happy.... i'll try and commute to Marty's as i can,(he's feeding me) and try and somehow live up to the blessing you guys have decided some bricklayer in Iowa deserves.......

Rod..... if youre into Palo... pick me up, call, anything..... some time for your DAD, wouldnt bother me in the least, and, I need occupation.......

i have to go.... past curfew, i've not said what i'd thought to say..... possibly, each day i'll get better..... One day at a time..... thanks, and buy flood insurance........... mike
