The Model Shop is going put forth a challenge to give away a free Villain SI Kit and large trophy to anybody that can break the current IMPBA "B" or NAMBA "A" SAW records using a Villain.

The first person to break any one of the above gets an extra boat kit and trophy!! COOL!!

Can the Villain Steal the records??

Two questions:

1: what size engine is NAMBA A? same as IMPBA B?

2: does the villain have enough space for a third channel mixture valve? It looked pretty tight in the pics.

I have been doing some checking and it seams that the NAMBA records I have stated could be old.. I will keep trying to get more info on this.

Billy

I'm sure you are talking about fitting another servo the radio box! If necessary you could fit another servo with out to much problem. You would no doubt have to build a new servo tray and use a small servo.

Do you use an adjustable mixture control on your 21s now? For me I try to keep the gismos down in my tunnel racing. There simple boats and I try to keep them that way. Just my (out there) opinion.

Hey Grim, I use a 3rd channel mixture control on both my stock and mod tunnels. I can hit it hard and furious and never have to really worry about the mixture changing wit hthe fuel level going down. Most all of the guys in the club use them and swear by them. I wont run without them unless forced!

It is a tight fit in my Hot Shot Sprint, but a mini servo works. Now in the Hopper HTB 260, I use a full size JR servo for throttle, mixture, and a 1/4 scale for the steering. Precision Racing Boats makes one of the best.

Like the way your new boat looks!!!

With the use of my Fuel Cell assemblies we have no changing needle settings. This way we can keep the boat simple and clean. Buy the way we have been testing this mounting system in the 290s and so far so good.. E mail me, I have pictures!

Are you using the stock radio box in your hopper boat?

That molded 2X4 is, well, I have heard it called "a turd".. NOT MY WORDS!! However it does lack a certain grace.

Rock-on

Have you tried mounting the fuel cells on a 260? My HTB 260 is running low 50's and I am trying to break 56(my highest). What is the difference in the fuel cell and fuel draw vs a regular sullivan 8 oz tank? I might get one if it would help.

Billy R.

Sorry Billy its not going to do a darn thing for you in a straight line, at least to break your 56mph run.

Was that on a speed gun? Good job!

Yes we have mounded them in the 260.

The fuel cells I offer, offer advantages in heat racing. Things like super light weight, constant fuel draw through short lines and high mounting. We did some experimenting with line length, (you should try it some day, it’s a real eye opener). That alone is worth the price of admission. There are other (minor) tricks to the inside of the tank also.

I have kits for your Hot Shot in stock!! I feel this is a necessary item on a stock boat. The advantages are huge.

Other then lightweight I wish I could help with your MPH thing.

Grimracer.

It was verified by an onboard speedometer. The speedometer has benn checked on rader several times and is accurate. The 56 mph was on a Hopper 260 with a CMB red head(with a few tricks), Irwin pipe and a Hopper modified prop.

Glad to hear about the "secret" of your fuel tanks. Can't wait to try it out now on my tunnel. It's been one big problem of mine that I always had to set the carb rich because the motor would lean out towards the end of a race or die out completely. Now I should be able to run quicker without the worry.
