Wow-I can’t believe we are only a little more than a week away from the ninth annual NW Scale Hydroplane Championship Race- Al Waters who has CD all of them is packed and ready to come, the lake has been reserved for testing on Friday afternoon and currently the long range weather forecast is promising. The schedule is: 1/7 Scale Electrics will run all heats on Saturday October 6th, Classic Thunderboats and Gas Scale Hydro will run all heats on Sunday October 7th and 1/8 Scale Nitro will run both Saturday and Sunday. We plan on having controlled open water from 8:00am to 10:00am on Saturday for Electric and Nitro boats with the drivers meeting at 10:00am. On Sunday we will have limited open water for the GAS classes before the heat racing starts around 9:00am. Please contact me if you have any questions or need help with logistics.

Rob, where you hiding out? I'd ask if you want to go run but, since my schedule has me working 2nd shift and the Elam isn't ready to go yet do to work, I wouldn't be able to go

Kirk Maupin won the 1/8 scale Nitro 2nd was Dave Brandt and 3rd was Myself. Dave Brandt won the Gas Scale Final and I was 2nd 3rd went to John Reifel. Great Racing all weekend!! I've got two fast questions:

1) What happenned to Bob Hulliger's Elam? I see the cowl is off

2) Was it a bad battery pack or ESC that was smoking in one of the electrics in turn 3 on Saturday?

Rob, was great talking with you again, it's been a while. If things work out, I may be joining you on the water next year

Great weekend. Gas scale is finally starting to get interesting, but I think the engine rules might need to bee a little tighter. As usual nitro 1/8 scale racing is the toughest competition I watch anywhere.

Thanks to Marty, Al, and many others. Special thanks to Brian, Kelly and Greg, the $Bill crew I dragged together. We finally got the boat to run.

The Orange Elam is John Reifel's. He spun out. The smoking Electric boat--Not sure if it was Batt. or ESC or both.

Yes, This Class is growing. Best turn out so far with 11 Gas Scales. Would of had another but the engine gets delivered today.

I don't know if in 12 years of racing 1/8th scales in UNW and RCU that I have ever seem more incrededable driving performances, both in nitro and the 1/7th scale electrics. I lost track of how many 2-3 boat, deck to deck races that went on lap after lap after lap. Very little carnage. Everybody is pretty much bringing their A game to this race.

Allan, see post number 8.

Points are really of no consequence except to get in the conny's and finals. Nobody remembers who was second.....lol
