Hahahaha. Just ragging ya Randy. It does sound like Kently's and I have seen how fast his is going so I am sure you will have one of the 20's to beat.

Heck, I'm still running a K&B on my antique 20. But I've had some help building new stuff and I am replacing old stuff as fast as I can go. Won't be long........ ;)

Man, that Cooper pipe just doesn't do that engine justice when it comes to the sound. HP is there all day long, but I remember running that Irwin stamped pipe on your engine at the Internats and good god, it sounded like that rod was gonna fly through the case even just starting it on the bench.

But yeah, I'm right there with you Randy, why change the recipe when it's already good? I just hope the lake lays down for the race. There's some kitty's that have been waiting to stretch their legs. I know of at least 3-4, including Otto if he's still running Jeff's motor, 56-58+ mph heat racing Lynx coming out of Florida alone. :eek: :ph34r:

Just remember guys, that Mark has filled a serious void with several OB efforts when NONE existed. I remember clearly that many years ago, if you bought a new K&B engine, what was the very first thing you did with it? Changed out the junk bearings and then cleaned up the debris inside the engine. So look at it in that manner and do not flame Mark. You would not be running what you are without his help.

Now this is a SMACK talk thread for the WTC race coming up this weekend. Keep on the topic and do not stray to another topic or bashing anyone again.

And to be perfectly honest, the Stamp pipe is faster,but here's the deal....

I only own ONE of those, and have 2 coopers. That pipe holds the W.R. due to the free flow nature, Lynns pipe has better deceleration, due to the backpressure. With the Irwin it bicycles into the corner, not pulling the motor back.

BUT the Cooper, with its extra weight, allows me to carry the nose higher thru the corner, without having to ad positive to the lower, thus making it more heat-race friendly.

Loose is fast, but 25 points wont get it done. period. And its not quite as hard when it hits.....

Remember my one on one with Gilbert. The Stamp pipe would have hit too hard when the water got sloppy, and a start would have cost me that one......Championship that is.

There is a method to my madness.

And that motor you refer to Jr, is my backup still.

Jeffro built that one, and it is eight years old, still original case, Fulton crank, and sleeve.

WOW. I knew that a year ago, and went thru it 8 years ago with a PB Pto. But we (Jeffro and Drake and myself) found the tolerance on the outside of the pto bearings too tight cold, and hot would go into bind. Using a valve spring compressor told us you don't need 300 pounds of force to install a pto bearing cold, should be able to do it with your thumb, literally.....

Good to see everybody is starting to figure out the TBM madness.

Racing has always been an interesting sport. Fastest to the race track or pond dosen't always win, same setup that worked in the past may not work today, and history doesn't always guarantee the future. It's not really Shaw's K&B you have to consider, but the four or five other fast boats that are coming. Hopefully by 3:00pm on Sunday, the TBM is well on it's way home with it's tail between it's legs...... :eek: If not, there is always next year.

Shaw is still working on his upgrades and antique replacements to get back to where he was in the mid 90's, when you and Otto were used to coming in second and third, and I won the Spring Nationals three years in a row, or have you and Otto forgot about those times?

One thing I can say, I would press you to find anyone else at the WTC with a bigger smile on his face than me!!!!!........... :D

Just glad to be back. WTC here we come!!!!!
