The father was a member over at Jim's but I don't know about here or not. The irony is that his last posting on the Dock pertained to retrieve boats.

That's very sad. I feel for the family.

When are people going to learn. At the least, just bring a life jacket to wear when retrieving the boat.

Unfortunately, as long as people throw common sense out the window, things like this will keep happening. Maybe all R/C boats should be required to have a safety card telling the dangers of swimming after a stalled boat. Couldn't hurt

This is such a terrible shame. I'm sure that all of us that race boats know that the situation just under the surface can be very different from what is seen by the eye. You can't swim in weeds. I feel so sorry for this family.
