Hey guys, for everyone wanting to know, Ross's boat is very SMALL and VERY LIGHT! I was at the valdosta race and got the chance to look at it and take a few closeup pics of the boat. will try to post them in a day or two. the ball bearing flexshaft is very trick and yes it does spin for a couple of seconds without the engine in it. The composite foam was very rigid, and light. Glenn says they have the current world record by ten MPH (75.something), but are waiting on the rule changes for the engine restrictions. Says they can go eighty!! with the right pipe.

Glenn:

What flywheel did you use on the Nova RS? Is it a pilot or SG shaft?

I'm having a hard time finding flywheels for these engines. The only

one I can come up with is a OS D1 which just has a 5mm hole through

it and presses up against the drive washer on a OS standard threaded

shaft like an airplane prop would. It seems like a lot of the new hot

engines only come out with the SG shaft for cars.

You probably made yours but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Thanks

Don

Don, I am using a Nova 21 flywheel that has been turned down a bit to clear the carb. The engine has a regular crank shaft not the SG type. The Nova 21 collet in the flywheel fits just right with no mods. :)
