The only change I am aware of is moving the ski further aft to allow the outboard bullet to rest in the end of the ski like the inboard. This will require a California style cavitation plate mounted skeg, and removal of the existing lower unit skeg. This will probably be the final version. The best props on this configuration so far are 1400, 1700, and JG props.

I guess some people still don't understand what that was all about. Kris, it was nothing personal against John.....period. I raced John many times years ago and was glad to see he was still here when I came back last year. I just did not agree with his design and the legality to be driven in the outboard class. If whine is what you meant, screw you, (wasn't that nice initially)...... :eek:

I have the right as a NAMBA and IMPBA racer to protest a design that I do not think is legal. John is a smart guy and figured out a way around the rules where outboard was not clearly defined. We found out just a couple of days before the WTC that the NAMBA board had deemed the boat legal pertaining to the current rules. They also suggested if the membership did not agree, that there were ways to properly define the class if the membership chose to do so. It also doesn't mean I still won't give him a hard time once in a while........ :p

For your information, as soon as I saw John at the race I walked over to him, shook his hand, congratulated him on winning the protest, and stressed to him it wasn't personal, and all I wanted was an official ruling, which we now have.

If you call that whining, then you may want to check your Aussie dictionary for the proper meaning, but here in the US, we call that a protest............ ;)

I'd say becoming World Champion in a field of 34 boats in D Tunnel (not to mention B OB Hydro, and E/F Tunnel) was pretty much a 'direct hit' via the battleship terminology. Ron and John worked it out like gentlemen, and both parties are ok with the outcome at this point. One thing that no one can say about Ron is that he cant back up his smack talk (as evident by his placement at the WTC), everybody else is just blowing hot air... Ron is no different than anyone else when it comes to being a fierce competitor (John Otto, Premo, etc etc), we all live and breath it. Some folks just articulate it a little differently than others.

My hat is off to all the winners at the WTC, thats the only way to earn the 'right' to talk smack to anyone in my opinion...

Back at ya........ :) Like I told you in Atlanta last year after one of my most memorable heats after returning to this hobby, I would race side-by-side with you and your gang, (Bobby, Tim, Deryl) any day!!!!! Tunnel racers are an entirely different breed!!!!..... ;)
