PX300/NX300 AND QX400 SPONSON PICS. THESE ALL BUILD THE SAME AS THE PX335 SPONSONS, BUT THE SECONDARY RIDE PAD WIDTH DOES VARY, AND IS EXPLAINED IN THE FULL INSTRUCTIONS I AM WORKING ON.

Well, due to taking new build orders again (first time in over a year I guess), I have got the old assembly line ramping up. I have some more kits arriving possibly today, so things are about to get real in the ole sweat shop! haha. Hereare the sponsons for Buddy Lowes NX300, Wayne Johnstones PX300, and My QX400 test hull. More will start soon, Mike

I actually have one of those electric yard blowers I will run in the garage and blow away what I can, or use my compressor blower to clean stuff. I spend more time cleaning than building it seems! Still not clean enough.

NX300 NITRO CENTER SECTION BUILD STARTS HERE. NX300 AND PX300 SPONSONS START ABOVE, AND BUILD THE SAME WAY AS THE PX335.

Got to work on Buddys center section this morning as I had a lot of calls to take last night, so not much got done. This is the NX300 center section. I still have to slide in the 1/8" sticks before gluing starts, but the center took me 5 minutes to dry fit! Pretty simple and slick! Mike

OK, NX300 center section build. First, start by dry fitting parts like the above pictures just to get use to the parts. Then, set up your center like below:

20130730_221639_zpsb5e57981.jpg

Now glue your inner and outer engine well frames together:

20130730_221653_zps7ac58854.jpg

Then glue the layers of the transom like this:

20130730_221706_zpsf8ee183b.jpg

20130730_221711_zpsddd67a07.jpg

Now, go back to the dryfitted center, and start running your basswood sticks down the center section:

All 4 basswood sticks should look like this when cut to length:

20130730_222244_zpsf3d33f2e.jpg

With everything above still just dry fitted, dry fit in your engine well plates:

20130730_222428_zps66278290.jpg

Now glue in this part first towards the front:

Slip in the transom plate, then start CA'ing all the parts you have installed, and be sure things are square and vertical. Use a square block where possible to keep the outside of the center section at 90 degrees:

Glue in your nosing blocks at the front during this time as well:

These pics stepped forward a little, but after all the lower sticks, and frames are glued in, then you can run the upper 4 basswood sticks and CA them in as well. This is where I am at right now. I will now be epoxying the insides of the center and sponsons, adding foam for floatation, and gluing on top decks.

Cowling plug for the 35" and 39" hulls is done and ready for compounding and waxing, then mold. Duratec is awesome. It has made plug building so much easier!

I managed to get some stuff done this weekend to the PX and NX300's. Sponson tops are on, boats are epoxied, and made the NX300 radio box before I went to work this morning. The NX365, NX400 and QX400 cowling plug is in the waxing stage now, and will be ready to make a mold this week! Mike

Got the 36.5" Nitro, and 39.5" FE & Nitro cowling plug finished, and started the mold layup. I love this tooling resin, wets out mat with ease and doesn't build up heat like regular polyester resin. I still have about 4 more layers of mat to add, and some wood blocking, and it will be done. Also got Buddys NX300 sanded and ready for primer, and Waynes hull got two cowlings laid up last night as well! Wife is out of town, so I can work as late as I want! haha

I've read this thread so many time that I should be able to build a nx300 with my eyes closed......err or maybe not....lol

And even if you can't find it here, I have sent you a picture text or called to get you guys back in line on the build! I expect your buddy's 300 to be in the water soon!
