Hey Mike, I wish you still build these for customers..

this is the PS295 you built me long ago and many have a hard time catching this one!

it should say first place but my driving does not match this boats performance

While working on a GS480 last night, I epoxyed the PX335 hull, and waxed the cowling mold. Tonight I will make the cowling, and sand this first coat of epoxy, and apply the second.

Started on Buddy Lowes NX300 last night. I am awaiting parts for the center section, so for now, I will post pics of the sponson build. Its basically the same as the PX335, just smaller. The center section is what I really want to focus on when it is ready to start.

Good job Mike! We need more stuff like this on IW. The laser has really opened up the door for some cool wood boat design.

Well, had a lot of things going on this weekend. Laid up a cowling for the PX335, sanded, re-epoxied, and resanded the PX335..it is now ready for clear coating. Made a backup mold of the PX300/ PX335 cowling, and will send off the plug to Dan Hutchenson this week so he can make a mold and offered gel coated cowlings for these boats. I also made a plug for the QX400 cowling this weekend as well, and worked on James Beasleys GS480 gas tunnel. It was a long, hard working weekend, but a lot got done! Here are some pics of the PX335 with cowling, and I am posting more GS480 pics in David S. GS480 thread. I also got in the rest of the stuff I need to rig the PX335, and some parts for the QX400 build when I get it done. Enjoy, Mike

Dogs were tired from a long weekend!

Starting to get things done on the tunnel. Hull is cleared, cowling was in basecoat in the pic, its now clearcoated, however the satin black is awesome looking! Should have done the whole boat like that. Neu 1521 1.5d motor, gonna just use my old Hydra 240 as its already set up with this motor and has bullets on it already. May switch to an Ice controller later. Getting a lot done during this long weekend! Enjoy, Mike

Looks good Mike..Im not a seasoned champion racer like most of the guys on here but I think you build some nice tunnels.

Just finished rigging it..will scuff bottom tomorrow morn, and go for the first run. Went ahead and put in my Buass special esc...can't wait!

Just got back after 2 runs, recharging now. First runs went very well, and the speeds are very fast. The boat turns just like the px300, and i still have some tuning with lower unit height to do. Once that is adjusted I think it will be about where I want it. One thing is for sure, this pond has gotten very small at this speed! May have to go across town later to my large pond. More later.

Went back with the new setup and its now running so clean! Its fast and works the turns with the smoothest curve. I hope to have a video sometime soon. Not gonna have much time this week or next, but will work on it when I can. I have not been this excited about tunnel boats in a while. I suspect this boat will be a contender in P FE real soon.

Some pics of the finished boat. Neu 1521 1.5d, Castle Ice ESC, OS lower, Hyperion 4s 45c 3300mah packs:

this boat looks good! let me know if you ever decide to sell this one! any chance of prebuilt boats in the future?

Casey, I actually just opened my building services back up. I have a short list so far, so if you want something built, better speak up now! Mike

Thanks so much for this thread and all you do Mike! This gave me the motivation to finally start my build. Inhaling Insta-Set (kicker, accelerator) and a beer, always a good time while building. I must say so far it is like putting Legos together! Keep up the excellent Job!!!

Haha, I am not sure what Accelerator has it in it, but its odd. Hope I don't die from it, or you either! Did you still need to talk on the phone? I tried calling you Sunday night if I remember, but no answer. Mike
