Neodymium magnets are super strong and work great. This is the place I use-http://www.kjmagnetics.com/products.asp?cat=112

On the riggers C10's for 20 & 40 cowls, C12's for 60/80/90 cowls. C16's for big cowls like on big nitro cats and gas boats. B)

Try www.kjmagnets.com. 1/2" magnets are very strong, bur avoid using magnets if your cowling can slide out. E-mail [email protected] for any questions. Boris

A cheap source for really strong magnets are old hard drives. There are usually 2 in each that move the wiper arm. They can be popped off their mounts and with two pairs of plyers can be snapped in two. If you want to check how powerfull they are just stick one on the front of your fridge and then try and pull it off, you need to slide the magnet to the edge to get a grip on it.

they carry magnets for cowls and are super strong.

use a few sets myself.
