Maybe you could just put vents on the side opposing the turn fin. That would reduce the amount of water that would get in there I guess.

Last few pictures of the top deck off. I finished the rear cowl latches, it's a piece of delron screwed on the underside with a .047 piece of piano wire through it and the sides of the hull.

I covered the bottom of the radio box with kevlar and rubbed out all the epoxy with a paper towel to keep the weight down. This should beef it up a bit. I slit the stuffing box hole to get some edges to help seal around the tube and attach to the tube. I am waiting to install the stuffing box until the hull is joined so I can have a flat surface on the bottom to keep the hull square while it's being glued. Then I will add 1 more layer of kevlar over the top of the tube.

Hey Mike,

that thing is looking great! I doubt you will have any problems with it being too heavy Ha ha ha. Looks like you are very close to completion now.

Tim.

Thanks guys,

I got the deck glued on, I think I can finish it this week, then I will take a break. It weighed in at 6.25 lbs.

Ian,

Thats everything but the fuel tank. I will double check it when I get it all back together.

Hey Mike! Did you get the bladder tank yet? It has been a week since I sent it. Should have it today. I see that you put a grease nipple in the stuffing tube. That will be cool for oiling her up. Is there any silicon in it? are you going brass to brass? If you go brass to brass, I wouldn't recommend spraying WD40 in it. Just grease. The WD40 won't let grease like Prather or so-on stick to the flex cable. It will wash right off. Your almost there! That thing is soooooo coool.

MikeP,

It sounds like your construction methods have paid off when you put it on the scales! ;D It should really fly! I thought I was doing well with a boat about 4 pounds lighter than my 90 mono and lighter than most of the 45 monos over here, but your boat would be lighter than the 45 SG I had!

Ian.

I weighed it again after joining the hull, adding the floatation and cowl latches to the cowl, and the fuel cell. 6lbs. 10 oz.

Hey! Now your .21 has a big brother. That thing should be contracted out to the military. It looks so stealth. I bet you wont be able to get a radar reading with that thing. ;D

A job well done, great looking boats mike.

One thing though you might want to get the exhaust lower on the tub. I know when i had a pipe high up it would bend over when cornering hard.

Mike,

I was thinking the same thing Tom was, i would make a really strong bracket for the pipe!!

Love you work tho!!!
