Logan Lathe

I am looking for a taper attachment to put on a Logan Lathe. Will I have to get rid of the auto feed screw set up for it to work? Is there another type that would work without a total rebuild of the carriage? Thx

You usually do have to disable the cross slide screw as most taper attachments are going to hang off the back of the machine and mechanically tie to the cross slide with a tie bar so it must be freed up in some manner so it will slide in and out as the follower runs down the taper attachment.

No, if you're referring to the lead screw, quick change etc. Yes, if you are referring to the cross slide. Does your 10" have a power cross slide? The less expensive simple type are usually less accurate and far less dependable.
