My Janae 67 nearing completion. Need to join the sponsons , put my nose piece in, put my ski on , and several other things. Can't wait to get this thing in the water. Also have a 45 in process . My only problem is I have to much cabinet side work. People wating in line.

Now I remember when I first saw this kind of style boat... it was back in the 90s from guys running them in Japan. As I understand it they had been running this style for years. They were good for rough water as they developed them to run in the ocean. So I guess the designs from Japan way back in the past have now made it over here to the US. I guess if it's cool to have throwback jerseys you can throwback boats too. LOL!

It's all good. Whatever works.

Here's a link to some pics of boat with similar wide stance and rearward engine placement back as they were getting more popular in 2001.

Roger;

Yep yep

they are an old design that has evolved over the decades.

they started getting shorter for oval racing and turn fins were also included for this.

the closed course hydros are SUPER long and the weight is much more

towards the rear of the boat to prevent the boat from stuffing.

I was also stationed in Japan and that is where i saw them as well.

They work great.

holy! watch the vids with them in the ocean .... unreal
If the hull is straight & you get the correct turn fin in the right location....... you will be GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Thanks Roger, Great video! 60 mph in ocean swells is crazy.
