    Anybody know these guys?

Hey, that's in my column. I wish I could take the blame, but I had nothing to do with that part. My guess is whoever did, tried their best to get it right. I've got to submit my next article in the next few days, I can have them correct that. Is there an affiliation that should go with Batavia...

SS1 - Bushings front and back

Andy, Chris forwarded the pictures you sent him. They sure look like bushings front and back to me. I looked at some of my motors and the shaft bearing on mine is different then the one you pictured. I shared this with Chris and he said to send it back so that he could see what's up too, and...

    Dark Horse 2 and 3

Ray and Brian. They look great! Can't wait to get my hands on them! It will be nice to have a boat that can handle the power! Here are some pictures on Ray's site. http://www.drcwebservices.com/ffe/boats.htm Dick

    Flex shafts for LSH class

Oh ya, I'm not sure 150 cable will cost you the race. I swing a Y547 and run a 130 cable on that boat but 150 wouldn't be a bad idea. I run 150 on all of my other 12 and up boats. I think I did twist a cable on my LSH at SAW's come to think of it. Dick

    Flex shafts for LSH class

Ahh Paul, secrets! Hey Backemf, I ran 3 perfect heats and won the P sport class with a Hacker C50 8XL and M445. Also the Only P sport out of all 37 at the event to run in the high 50's for 5 laps. I never had one boat in front of me the whole class. Paul did we race??? I've seen your boat run...

    LSO Rules

Howard, Your arguement for handpicked motors going to select drivers is just as accurate as my call that you had a 2 lap penalty in the last heat of T Offshore. Only one problem, The boat that I saw was a yellow cat and when I asked who's boat the yellow cat was I was told it was yours by...

OK, I'll start the 1/16th Scale Thread...

Cool Kevin, We are on the same page. In all honesty I never measured the maus for scale. By the time I was using that boat as my 1/16th (or whatever) our club loosened up the rules dramatically (again, with the departure of the hardcores that went to 10th). I had talked with Sam Maus who told...

OK, I'll start the 1/16th Scale Thread...

Hi Kevin, The earlier boats were all scratch Built. I ran the 1982 Atlas for about 7 years before I took a step into the dark side with the "Boat". I know, I know. Lets just say Jim Auguston, who ran the boat in both 1/8th and 1/16th scale, was (and still is) my hero. When He got out I thought...

OK, I'll start the 1/16th Scale Thread...

Al, When I started out in Model Boat racing back in the mid 80's the only electric model boat club in Washington was called Electric Thunder. They were all 1/16th scale Unlimited Hydros. For years I ran the 82 Atlas. We had a Hull roster and everything, I think our Hull fee was 10 bucks though...

Mike Hughes, your tunnel did it again!

Imagine that. Busy lifestyles. Welcome to my world! It used to be that racing boats was my outlet to cut loose. Now (4 kids later or maybe just the twins, the first 2 were easy) it's my moment of levity! Don't sweat it Mike. If it happens it happens. I don't try and "make" things happen...

Mike Hughes, your tunnel did it again!

Sorry Den, boats that win get a permanent home here! So, are we going for the SAW record with the Tunnels before the class gets switched to Spec? I want to see what these things can do! Dick

Mike Hughes, your tunnel did it again!

Mike SAW's are in November. The boat you built worked great this year as the class was run with 700 series spec motors (The SS1). UJ dropped me a note and is sending out a Top Speed2. I doubt that the SAW's will run 700's unless the rules are drafted sent out and voted on by then which I doubt...

Mike Hughes, your tunnel did it again!

Hey Hippie, Just wanted to thank you again for the tunnel you made me a few years ago. For the third straight year it won for me at nats! It's getting a little haggered, but still hanging in there! We ran SS1's on them this year and it was a great power option for that hull. Thanks buddie! Dick

    travel containers

Just make sure they don't exceed the airline size restrictions (by much) or you will have to pay their $50.00 penalty. If they are overweight as well it's another 50! I've got a rubbermaid that is a little oversized but underweight so they let me through! Good luck, Dick

Hey Jerry, 2004 NAMBA nats in RCBM?????

Thanks Ron, I just popped over there and posted a note. Not sure it will make any difference. It would be sure be nice to see more NAMBA and IMPBA info though. Dick

Hey Jerry, 2004 NAMBA nats in RCBM?????

Thanks Unc! I just heard from Rick Eyrich who did the same as you for the Electric nats. He worked his tail off, sent in a ton of pictures and then nothing. I've always been a big supporter of RCBM. I also realize they need to keep things going with all of the electric toy boat reviews, but...

Hey Jerry, 2004 NAMBA nats in RCBM?????

Hey Jerry, Any new why the coverage was so terrible in the RCBM? I was excited to see that this issue had both the Nitro and Electric Nats articles. Then I saw that they merged the two events into one article and gave each one a whopping 2 paragraphs about the weather and hotel location...

    Madison Movie VERY COOL!

Just came back from the Madison Movie with my son and it was awesome! We will see it again! For those of you lucky enough to have it in your area go see it. You'll get your moneys worth and then some! A great, "clean" movie about Unlimited hydroplanes, Hanging out with your son, doesn't get...

    **NAMBA FE vote results**

Thanks to the guys who cared enough to write the proposals! While not all proposals passes I would hope it wouldn't discourage them or others who feel they have an idea to make our sport a better place. Dick
