is there any other date besides sept. 23-25 if we cant race on saturday
Not really and those were typical Hagerstown fall dates anyways.

Seems that now they are readjusting the track back to the west and the 18Z GFS model shows a path directly over Hatteras. That is not good with tropical storm force winds extending over 200 miles from the center not to mention what it is going to do to that region making landfall as a strong cat. 3 at the very least. Tomorrow morning updates should really lay it all out but this could get rough quick............

The weather man said Sunny Sunday because It's Going more east now. 30 minutes earlier it was rain. Who knows what is going to happen. I want to race! Motel is non refundable. Lets see what tomorrows forecast is. I remember going to Carolina when a hurricane was coming right at us that Friday and it passed so fast that the weather was great all weekend. We did have to cut up some trees to get down the road to the pond, but it didn't stop us.

I vote for a Saturday quickie, even if it is only 2 rounds. I will be on an Army mission from 18 through 30 Sept so no racing for me those dates. Weather may turn good and we can still get the whole thing in, but if it gets ugly we pull the plug and quit at 2 or 3 rounds. Beasley Bomb

WOOOOHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carol's bringin' more COOKIES!!

For those "not in the know" Carol's cookies to us are like crack to a street corner junkie. :D :D :D :D :D

Hey Don, I have been real busy at work and just now looked at the points totals. Thanks to you and Chris for getting them out, I am curious why the Open Tunnel class is not listed? The class made every race and I do not recall us making it a non-jacket class at the season opening banquet. Thanks, James Beasley

Also, I noticed there is an error in Gas Sport Hydro, shows Earl Eber and Mike Butler both with 400 points for the Delmarva race, one of them should be 300 points. :)

You are correct, but we have not received a response regarding runoffs, etc., so in the interest of posting the points they were put in there as you see them. If and when the question gets resolved we will be adjusting accordingly.

Per the notes from the district meeting posted on the high points page :Open o/b Tunnel was added as another non points class and F/E up to Q power will be allowed to run in that class."

D tunnel was changed to Open Tunnel but not a jacket class for this year.

We have to have Tim look into the B/P SPec Hydro class in Hagerstown also. I'm 99% sure I came in second behind Eric. I know John Chirillo came in third and he wasnt awarded any points. He has the plaque hanging from his wall.

On the 11pm update NOAA just jogged the track a little more to the left again, looks like Hatteras is going to take a direct hit. Now the big concern is if Irene makes cat 4 tomorrow.............

http://www.nhc.noaa....?large#contents

Irene has also grown some more in size with tropical storm winds now extending 250 miles out from the eye. Let's see how things look at the 8am update tomorrow. I want to race this weekend but the last 2 "updates" didn't do us any favors.

11:00 pm weather has irene moving further east after brushing cape hatteras. not much effect on the dc metro area. we are further west, even less effect at the c-ville pond. dc is calling for 40% chance of late afternoon/evening SHOWERS (not rain) for saturday, slight chance for sunday early morning. says SUNNY sunday, good weather for the M.L.K. memorial dedication, even better for us further west. looking much better in the past 12 hrs. LET'S RACE, see ya'll at the pond !!

I have been called at work and folks want to race, not to mention that alot of folks have NON refundable hotel reservations.

Will be getting together with Mike and Tracy between 1030-1100AM thurs for final ruling.

keep fingers crossed folks.

somebody needs to call me on my cell as soon as ya'll decide. need to know if i will need to drive my truck with the stairs for the driver's stand over tomorrow after work. could save me a few hours & gas $.

I don't know what some of these "weathermen" are looking are but the track keeps shifting WEST!!!!! Hatteras and the Outer Banks are going to get their azzes handed to them-

http://www.nhc.noaa....?large#contents

And this site has been correct all along-

http://www.wxrisk.com/

The one plus is Irene has slowed just a tad so we should be able to knock out 3 rounds on Saturday IF we get an early start (7:45 drivers meeting, racing at 8am) and keep the pace strong with NO waiting. If you're not ready then too bad. Sunday weather is going to SUCK, 60% chance of rain and winds out of the NW at 20mph with higher gusts. The only "sunny" day will be Friday and that's only until about lunchtime. I am one of those people with a non refundable room but if they keep changing the track west you might not see me at all.........

D tunnel was changed to Open Tunnel but not a jacket class for this year.

Don, Dick and I were at the banquet with you when Dick raised the notion of changing D tunnel to Open to generate more interest in the class. He and I are the primary tunnel enthusiasts and we did not desire or nor were we aware that your intent was to make it a non-jacket class. I certainly would not have voted to change the class if my ears had heard that condition as part of the change, Dick either. I am not sure how this confusion arose but would request reconsideration of it. This would be the same thing as if 1/8th Scale was changed to FE Scale but as a non-jacket class for you. Not trying to argue but I am concerned that I devoted all of this years efforts towards a class that I thought was for points and now it is not. By the way I don't even think I am the points leader at this point, I think Carol the cookie monster is. Respectfully, Beas

i agree with Don running 3 rounds starting early as possible and not stopping. i will make sure food is ready so we can eat while we racing :D :D :D

ok now quit the BITCHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
