Andy,
Will the 4 blade .21 tunnel props work in the Sport class? If so I want two. PM me your mailing address.

John
Yes, I think it will be a good Sport hydro prop.

I'm really exited about this 3857 4 blade. I believe the pitch map will allow for some really great top end speed and some good punch out of the hole.

The T.E. is only 2.5" but it will be plenty because the extra blades will give the needed hook up and the engine

won't be over loaded. This prop fits on a stock K&B 3.5 lower unit.

I'm going to make this prop with 2 or 3 different amounts of lift so it will work on several different hulls without adding cup to adjust the lift.

The idea is to have them work perfectly off the machine so that we can have perfect duplication of performance when you need a new prop or back-up prop

.

If I can get the extra props done this week I'll shoot a few up to the big tunnel race this weekend for those who may want to give one a test spin and see how they react.

I don't think they will have a problem selling props and new props are much better than a CNC copy of an old design.
Why should a new one be better?
Rudi,

These very first props may not be better than someone's perfectly tweeked Cast prop. But, soon enough we'll have enough

different props to choose from and in the end we will produce props that will be much better than a cast prop can possibliy be.

Especially once we start producing the steel props.

In a few weeks I will begin work with the larger props.

Also the engine parts are still making progress.

Good boating,

Andy

Anyone tested the props yet? Looks like most guys are still in winter season. We have a race this weekend. We will be running...

20 Mono

40 Mono

Scale

20 Hydro

60 Hydro

80 Hydro

Send me what you would like to test so we can get you a full report.

Also...

Alfred told me he got the boat. I see that there are quite a few different things on the X2 design. Will also test that this weekend. Are you still doing engine work. Also have some 45s that need freshening up.

well, I finally have a weekend forcast I may be able to deal with. That Prop, looks awsome, I have a sport 20 tunnel, mod tunnel and two sport twenty hydros just waiting as I ordered two. Hopefully, If the forcast is right. I will have my sport 40 out this weekend, along with my sons. They are not set up the same. So it should be interesting. Hopefully I will have some friends out there also. Thanks for you efforts. Ken

Andy,

I had emailed and asked if this .21 prop will work on a .21 Sport tunnel. I think your response was for a .21 Sport hydro. Hope I can still get one for $ 30.00? Can I send payment to your buisiness?

Thanks,

John

John,

I think so, but only testing on different set-ups will tell the story. I made a couple of more props today.

A 3657 4 blade and a 3861 4 blade.

I think the 3857 will be a good place to start on your Sport Tunnel unless you are running low nitro, then I's say the 3657.

It has plenty of blade area for a 36mm prop. And yes. you can get any one of them for $30.

You can do the paypal, or call with a CC or mail payment. Which ever you prefer.

Sounds great Terry! And thanks for the order. I will continue to post here with every new prop.

Soon the props will have the number engraved on the hub. Until then try to keep track of what you have.

When we get handle on how these props work on different hulls I'll begin to layout a good reference system and make a new prop page for the website.

I'll take a set of your 64mm - 5.8 " - 1667 's in polished Unobtanium please ! Fascinating work , this is the neatest thing to come along in a long time . Watch the matsuura maching video on the same page as the aforementioned video link ..WOW .

Well off to my shop to build things the Flintstone way !!

I'll call in payment for a 3857 and a 3861. Thanks!

Photo of the new 3857 4 blade.
Thanks Andy. That's what I was looking for. Looks sweet. Did you ever get any extra run off to send to the Tunnel Race this weekend?

~Mitch Atwell
3861 be better on a mod tunnel or my sport 20 ? let me knwo the details and we will order more.. man this never quits..lol
Did'n't get any extra sent up there.

The 3861 has 7% more pitch than the 3857. I just don't know which would be better right now. They are both fairly stout props.

I'm guessing the load will be similar to a cupped 1440 or and X442.

I made two new props today.

The first prop is a 3874 4 blade. With a 1.9 pitch/dia.ratio and 15 degrees of rake it may have some interesting results for a .21 rigger.

The pitch is about like a 1450 with 3.2" cup. The diameter is small but with 4 blades there is plenty of blade area to push a .21 rigger or fast electric rigger.

Also made a 3457 4 blade. I designed it for the .15/.18 RTR hydro. This one has a 3/16" bore. We may try it on our stock ProBoat hydro this weekend. If it looks good I'll make it, or whatever is most suitable for that boat, with an1/8" bore.
