OK its ready to go...........................
Have to pick up some methanol to mix the fuel and will fire it up on the bench.
Going to mix 10% Klotz supper techniplate and 15% nitro.
Also going to make a different head the 12.5 CR is to hard to start. Will bring it down to 9.2 CR.
Then off to the pond>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yeah I reckon same DW keep the ratio down to save the rod for break in perhaps ,,but I think you be safe these gas donks are sturdy ...

When she is run in,, try higher CR to pull some good props ...👍

Well did the first bench start.
Primed the system ran some fuel threw the case and it popped right off three bumps.
One turn on the needle to get it set and idled like a kitten.
sound killer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go to shut it down and it will not shut off....... Speeds up....WTF
Looked in the carb and when the barrel is closed it reves up like a lean over rev.......
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonder why????????????????
Well need to find a good way to seal the crank.
Any of you Gas passer have a suggestion?????????
The crank dose not seal like a nitro eng with clearance from the case and crank.
So dump the 2 bearing set up and run 1 bearing with a seal?
Would really like 2 in the front of the beast.
Thing to ponder...........................................🤔
Well it runs...............................

0B13E44F-4834-4148-8C04-3685D457A699.jpegGet you a regular oil seal 12x28x7 and remove the spring. It will be tight at first then break in.
Should be fine with sealed bearings as well as long as they are sealed on both sides of the outer bearings. It is common to run 2
Bearings on the flywheel side and one bearing on collet side.
Any of the gas guys by you should have that seal. Zenoah uses one that size and a smaller one where as the tk uses all the same size.
Or a supply/parts house.

Thanks bud will do.
I only left one seal on the outer bearing.
I will pull the one outer bearing and get a real seal.
Was for the better any way going to be windy tomorrow and Eric has **** to do now being the big guy and all....LOL

yes
Glad he got it. Hope it isn’t overwhelming.
Even leaving just the outer seal on a 21
Engine it will blow out. But hey with the wind come nice air.

Yes the weather is changing just in time to do testing.
We where going to run on Saturday his way to Miami.......
Yes he will have his hands full that is FOO SHOO....................................

If you prefer the support of extra bearing all it needs is a seal plate installed before the proper bearing is installed after it. They will not likely blow the seals out if you put these behind the outer bearing. It has to be the proper sealed bearing as many rubber sealed are not suitable either.

One of those seal plates ^^^ should do the trick as well as cleaning the outer bearing surface with acetone, and thick CA the outer ring of the bearing surface to the rubber seal.

Should hold the seal in place while still letting you use a dual bearing setup...

So what bearing have you found has the best seal on it that resist blowing out?
All so where do you get that plate?

I think I will run just one bearing in the front and get a seal.
I have the no drag sleeve from Gizmo already so mind as well use it.
There is no fly wheel so one should be good enough.
Also it will give the crank some wiggle room when it starts flexing under the load.
I feel it will be better to go with the flow than try and control it.
Some thing has to give.
Also I am using polyamide retainer bearings not the stock steel cage ones.
Do not need a blow out or leak running full song.
On a gas eng it dose not mater so much but with nitro a lean over I think will hurt just a little more..........LOL
Better to be safe than sorry.
