O.K., a question from a newbie......can someone explain the pros and cons of using a square drive .187 flex cable vs. a regular? Specifically, I'm planning on running an O.S. .46 VX-M in a modified Dumas Quickie 40. LHS has very limited parts....just want to know what I might be giving up (or gaining) speed-wise.

Basically you will see no speed difference. What it gives you is that there is no load pushing up on the bearings. Longer bearing life. The strut takes up the load because the cable can float in the the square drive. If you run a collet the thrust of the prop puts the load onto the bearings.
