Hello,

The IMPBA Board of Directors have voted to reduce the 2007 Spouse/Family and Junior Memberships to only $10.00 per person. For the price of a few glow plugs, a young model boater can become a member of IMPBA and race for an entire year! I placed these lower cost Membership Application in the "Forms and Voting" section on the IMPBA website for everyone to download, complete and send in with their chack. The drastic reduction in operational expenses during 2006 has allowed this change, and the expenses for 2007 will be watched equally close.

I applaud the move for the families. Have one additional thought. Has there been any consideration given to extend the age to 21 instead of the present age of 18? Thinking is that there are college kids that are part time racers and are limited in the races that they can run. Or many in the age group are earning only mimimum wage so it is downright hard for them. Having to pay full freight as a regular member but running on a part time basis makes for hard decisions. A reduced fee of 50% for ages 18-20 would help greatly and most likely sweep up some that are not racing at all now.
