David, is that the OPS120 piston??

What dia and wristpin dia is it on the 120??

Anders
Yes it is the OPS 1.20 piston dia 1,256" wrist pin is the same as a VAC .91 or most other .67-.80 engs.

The 1.20 is no more than a .67-.80 with a huge piston in it. same crank and case.

Going to boar out a square head .90 and stick this P/L in it with a stock VAC .91 steel rod.

Got a new batch of pistons from Scott Bouchie to day and fit one up.

Real nice and easer to work with the 12% Si also has some ribs in the skirt.

Will give it a spin this weekend again and see if it will hit the mark.

Should have a video and a gun at the pond.

Will see what happens.

Have to thank Scott for the great work and in less than 2 weeks.

You are the man.

Also would like to thank Steve Wood for prepping a new rod so quick.

LETS BURN SOME NITRO!!!!!!!

David, don`t forget to enter if for the race.......

Didn`t find you in X-mono for the winter nats.

Don`t kill it before i have the chance to see it ;) .

Anders

The boat is not mine. I am building it for my buddy Luis to race at the Winter Nat's.

Some time next year I will start on my boat. It will be a 47" Cal Craft with the in the works OPS 90 square head board out to a 1.27.

Can't build the top dog for a buddy.

This boat will be mine.

Nice looking pistons. But that large pin boss acts like a heat sponge some times. I would keep cutting. How does it compare to weight to the stock CMB piston?

Those are nice. I like the ribs on the skirts! I broke the skirts off of the billet pistons Dad made for my twin also. Might have to borrow Scott's idea. ;)

Joe the piston weigh about a gram more.

Buckshot the skirts are also thicker on this piston than the last.

Ran the eng this weekend and have a little over 2 gals thew it.

Would have got more run time but the pipe came unscrewed. Time to get it welded.

Theses piston expanded much more at the top. Even with .002 under at the top thy still made a nice wear band.

Thy did not leave scratches in the liner like the stock ones or the 30%.

Thy seated real nice with just 2 gallons and still have a real good bump at the top.

Cut the chamber down today before running and bumped the CR up to 9.8 ,the squash down to .009 and set the pipe at 11".

The top of the piston and the button are still shinny.

So far I am liking this material. Scott tried to talk me in to this stuff the first time around. BUT NO I had to listen to what every one was saying was better.

Live and learn!

This stuff is much more fore giving and not as brittle.

Old school Tec.

Next build will have the pin up as high as it can go in the piston and a longer Titanium rod made for it and some tapper ground out of the sleeve.

How did it run today dave ??
Handles real nice can't do any thing wrong with the boat.

Still chasing props. Need more time on the eng before lean on it.

Need a weld job from Tom on the pipe and broke strands in the flex shaft Cut the day to 3 runs.

Dam thing pulls like a mule.

Well here is a pic of Dave and me the past satuday at Joes Crab Shack. Very funy...

We will be ready for the WinterNats. 20121201_212039.jpg

Andy, e-mail tour address to me at [email protected] and I'll get it out this week. All I ask is that of it works for you then tell the folks here about it.

What kind of boat are you going to put it on? It won't work with a Seaducer.

How far back do you run your rudder? I have a rudder assembly with internak plumbing as well.

Steve

Its a Prestwich Lynx 47 - http://www.prestwich...o.uk/mono47.htm

I currently have the trim tabs and a 4 inch standoff speedmaster rudder.

Just lacking a decent stinger drive, they show it with a strut setup / but I really think a stinger is a better way to go.

Sent you my addy if you think that unit will work for me.
