i am in the midst of a Winston Eagle build, i have come to the point of deciding where stuff goes...

i have heard both pros and cons of putting the tank in front vs. behind the engine (for balance throughout the run)

Question number 1:

Has anyone done this??

Question number 2:

Does it really work??

see pics for my 2 options

tell me what you think...

The fuel will weigh more than the radio stuff. The motor will run better with fuel in the front. dont put the radio box so far back, build it with the front of the box about 1/2 inch from the engine collet. You definatly dont want the fuel that far back, the boat will never balance and will blow off the water.

Nice build there.....

Fuel up front.....too bad you could not get a tank on either side of the engine mount....not sure if you have enough height....

Also, check out some servos from Hi-tec....they make some very small throttle servos (HS-81) and also a standard size rudder servo (HS-645MG)

20 size boats have gotten alot easier now that the radio systems are so much better and smaller than 20 years ago....

Thanks Phil, i have to put another bulkhead there anyways... just waiting on k&b parts... that'll give me more room also...

i just happen to have a HS-645 and a HS-56HB on hand from a 20 size hydro i got tired of fixing, both were plenty strong enough, but now i have to think of cramming it all in there...

the battery pack is the bulkiest, does anyone have a link to custom configured battery packs?? (5 cell 1400 mAh)

Thanks, Shnick
