I'm very interested in this boat for a .12 sport hydro. The .12's are real sensitive to weight though.. I'm concerned it will be heavy after sealing and paint. Please put me on the list for a kit..

I am going to work up a 1/32" ply sheeting kit for this hull per Glenn's request. I just can't believe a hull this light could not be pushed by a hot .12 engine ??!! The 1/32" exterior sheeting kit will probably drop this hull down to 1lb 3oz or so, plus gear. Right now, fully epoxied, its 1lb 9.8oz with 1/16" ply exterior. Mike

The bottom sheeting should be 1/16 in my opinion. but the rest could be 1/32 I think. Not trying to say it's bad at all. I've build a bunch of .12 riggers and they really are sensitive to weight. Interested in selling a built up hull? or even the prototype?

I think it's great,.. I've kind of lost some interest in my boats and this kit is bringing me back to the work bench I'm sure!!1

I hate to post this, but it is bothering me a little. I have had some questioning about the price of this kit. I cannot determine how much the gp265 will be until its completely setup on the cut grid in final form. It may come in less that $125.00, and that could be a lot cheaper, I just don't know yet.

I understand the whips might be cheaper, but when you compare a whip kit/ cowl/shipping vs. the GP310, GP335, and GP400 kit/cowl/ shipping there might be a $10-20 difference total. There is not even a whip 12, whip 33.5", or a whip 39" for that matter to compare apples to apples. I don't really know what to say. There is also a ton of new technology in these kits that works, and works **** well and I will leave it at that. I might be over steping my bounds but it gets to you after a while, especially when the kit is the cheapest part of the whole finished hull! Mike

Anthony, if you want the prototype I just built I will sell it to you. PM me if you are interested. Thanks, Mike

Its not a whip Mike, its a MLgp265 so your price is where you set it period! and darn well worth it. If someone wants quality then they should be willing to pay for it!!!!If not buy something else ^_^ .

Its cool guys. I know its gonna happen time to time. I can only do what I can do since I don't do my own cutting ya know! Mike

Well, after such bad luck working on the gas tunnel cowling plug, I had a bit of good luck. Got the cowling mold finished, just need to buff and polish as its been final sanded with 1000 grit. Got a couple cowlings for an AU order done for the gp335 and gp400 series, and got some of the hardware figured out on the GP265 test hull. As you can see, its running speedmaster hardware, Neu 1512 1D motor, hyperion 2s packs, and fightercat 2-8s, 240a esc with external cap bank. Motor is just put in there, not mounted yet as I wanted to check some space requirements first! Looks like its all gonna fit! Even got my special Dick Tyndall custom Sport 12 skid fin! Enjoy, Mike

Thanks guys. Glenn, i have been going threw a lot of laser cutting issues lately. The last month has been a wash...at my busiest time of the year. You sure u need 1/32" sheeting. I used it on the top deck and wish i didnt! Too thin. Let me know, Mike

Mike, sorry to hear about your problems! I really am in no hurry...so yeah I would like to wait for the 1/32. The weight is so critical to make one of these run like I want...it would be a shame to have a great looking boat that is too heavy to run good. I'm hoping to be running fast enough that folks won't have time to see the dips in the sheeting!

Thanks! Let's see some video of yours running!
