It's been a while since I posted here, but I have some updates. The 38" original kit I posted in this thread is designed, and I have one cut and have been working on it when i can. I also designed a 50" version, and it is ready for cutting and building. I also decided to start on the 50" version cowling plug, and see how it went. Because it has gone so well, I am going to start working on the 38" cowling plug very soon as well. Here is where I am so far with the 50" cowling plug. I purchased a primer called Duratec Styroshield, and it has allowed for me to use blue foam, instead of expensive foams for the plug. I added the first body filler to the plug this morning, and tonight, I will sand, and reprime, and see where I am with the finish! More soon, Mike

Here is what my finished goal is. This is the 38" boat...the pics below are of the larger "gas" size plug.

First Duratec coat applied, and sanding started:

Second Duratec coat applied, sanded, and first layers of filler added to start the block sanding process.

Getting very close now. Parting board added, Primed again, block sanded again, now time for one more final prime coat, and fine sanding, polishing, and finally, make a mold!

That little Trihull is 34" long....You said bass boat? How about this one I made myself a couple months back? This is what I call a bass boat! haha Clear Gel coat, with silver, and marine blue flake under the gel coat. Made all the decals from scratch, made the Suzuki outboard cowl plug and decals from scratch, made the carpet kit from scratch, made the stainless handrails from scratch...its my dime piece, and the best gel coat work I have ever done! First time I have posted it publically actually cause I really don't want anyone begging to have one made. There are not many of the originals out there, so the original value is very high. I have a white one too, but wanted true bass boat flake, so I had to make molds to do it right. Mike

A friend of mine in Florida. He has a swt of molds too, but they are doing some repairs to them. He plans on selling some in the near future tho. He gave me the right to sell the Baja and the GT150 Johnson cowling, and the Seebold kit when it's ready. Mike

Got home yesterday, and got to work on the Evinrude F1 outboard cowling for the Seebold...Check it out so far!

The tunnel canopy is ready for final sanding, polishing, mold release agent, and finally...the mold!

The outboard cowl is looking VERY good! Really happy with this as well.

Mike

We were the first to try an Evinrude V-8 on a Seebold tunnel (full size). The boat was 20 feet long, man what a ride!

The 50" kit for the Seebold cowling arrived yesterday. Here are some pics of the top deck sheeting with the cowling, vs. the International Hobbies 38" original. This thing is going to be awesome!

The canopy mold turned out great, and I am going to pull the plugs from the Evinrude tonight! Mike
