No problem Charles.
Funny how the C/A went off on so much of a tangent.
Never used it to build till now. I have to get the hang of how much to use a little goes a long way.
Will see how this down and dirty boat performs soon.
There is a one day race near by soon.
Will run it in open hydro to see how it handles race water.
Nothing like a few gas boats in the mix to tell you what you got.
Should be all but finished with it this weekend.

Yes, race water gives the true test of the boat in how predictable it will be when going for the gold.

I tried several of the BSI rubberized CA glues. For wood I like the clear medium and for CF I like the black medium viscosities. Both give you plenty of time to position the part before they start to set.
Can build a center section in one night.

Opps, did it again......

Well here it is for it first set up on the table.

so the measurements are.
inside to inside on sponsons 21"
tub 41"
after pane 27"
sponson bottoms 3 deg
sponson tops 1.5 deg
looks like the CG and the turn fin pressure point will be in line with the fly wheel of the eng.
All pickled and scraped.
Only thing left is the stuffing tube placement tomorrow and then assemble.

What’s BB hardware contact details
Got 2 of there rudder blades need the rest of the rudder assembly to suit

OK got the clamping system all installed and did the first setup on the table.
The clamps are just tight enough so it dose not move up and down or front to back.
The rod is still going to have the out side clamps on the tub sides for the side to side.
This way no one clamp has to be supper tight to put stress on the rod.

The dry CG ended up right at the far back of the turn fin.
Not bad if you ask me for a 3 week build.
Will be testing next week end with my buddy Eric Canto at Lake Z.

Eric has some killer 1662 for me to try.
The one in the pic is a 2517 it will be a good starting point.
Have 2 drive shafts made up one is a 1/4 cut down to 3/16 for the 1662 testing.

Well it was a good day of testing.
The rear of the boat is hooked up now but the front is to light on the water to heat race.
So went from a light rear to a light front.
Will try some thing new with the sponsons next just want to get one more day of testing in on this setup.
On the last runs the rears where out of the water and the fronts where dancing on top . Just a little to lose .
I think it needs a little less aero lift from the sponsors.
Tried to put more on the top but this slowed down the boat and it still got lose coming out of the corners.
I know some have added a 3rd surface to the sponson between the front angle and the running surface.
I think this will be the next move.
I am thinking that the AOA of the front angle is what is making the boat light.
Too much area to catch air like a spoiler. I think reducing this with a 3rd angle will do the trick.

Well spent the day testing the new set up.
I put the turn fin on that came with the boat . It was a 1/8" thick aluminum fin.
Well it dose not work!!!!!!
The boat would lift the sponson out of the water and start to rock the boat all over the place, I tried different angles on the fin ,strut angles and shims under the rear tubes but nothing worked.
Put the thin Ti fin on I made and it all went away.
The boat is very stable and turns on a dime now.
No blow out or hopping of any kind.
IT IS HOOKED UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The final set up on the front end was 3.2 AOA on the bottom and 1 deg on the top.
I also stager the sponson spacing from the tub. 8" on the turn fin side and 9.5 on the out side sponson.
This helped a lot with stopping it from random snap rolling in the corner apex and tracking strait.
I may redo the sponson bottom and drop down the AOA some more later.
Last run I hit something in the water and ripped the turn fin out of the inserts. The boat popped strait up and tumbled HARD.
No damage to any thing but the inserts.
This is rock solid boat.
Next will be more power now that it is all sorted out.
VAC 1.05 will be next test mule for the boat.
Will see how rock solid it is......LOL
This boat will heat race now...............

I guess you like the one I sent you Mark.....
I put the original fin on because it would snap roll in the corners at the apex some times.
I have seen where it was stated that tis was because the fin would let loose.
I wanted to see if a thicker stiff fin would help with this problem.
It just made the boat undrivable.
The off set in the sponsons solved the snap roll problem with the thin turn fin also made a backer for it there was a lot of fin unsupported with this sponson design.
