I have a stock CMB 45 CAM Engine, purchased in 2008. This engine is used in a 45 Seaducer Mono, using 60% nitro and AB Parabolic pipe.
I have measured the head clearance using a small piece of silver solder, and the stock head clearance is .020". I measured the head clearance about 6 times using this method, and I get readings anywhere from .019 to .021 so the average works out to 20 thou.
Should I consider reducing this head clearance? I have read in this forum where others have their head clearance set at between 8 and 12 thousands of an inch.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
David
