This kind of stuff has been going on since before the strike. I ordered a drive shaft from a company that shipped with UPS back in 1990. The shaft was twisted like a pretzel by the UPS people and, if not for an honest delivery driver, that's what I would have had delivered to me. He sent it back and a new shaft arrived almost a month after being ordered. I was fortunate enough to be home when it arrived to be told this by the driver. I later learned he was fired for doing that on a few more occassions. It seems that with him intercepting items and returning them before they were delivered, UPS was liable for replacement costs and that was unacceptable to the management
