(Fun) I Need help with hieroglyphics

I know I am getting old (really old) but more and more posts are showing up with colons, semi colons, parenthesis, P's, D's etc. all joined together, i know they must mean something but I lost my secret de-coder ring and havent got a clue !!. How about someone giving me a lesson, for example :
