I have recently been given all of my fathers old r/c boat kits and engines. Both kits are Don Pinkert models. One is a .40 Gator Mk2, and the other is .21 Coyote. I've been building the Coyote, but I am stuck and can't work on it anymore without help. There are no instructions, blueprints, or hardware with the kit so I'm desperately looking for any help I can find. I have asked Don for an extra set of plans but he hasn't had any luck. I'm not even sure which model I have

I would really appreciate any ideas, knowledge, or advice.

I hope these pics will help identify the model.

I have seen your post, but I'm not sure if it's the same model. Yours looks really good. I'm really nervous about glueing the rear sponsons on and screwing it up. I guess that I'm hoping that someone can pinpoint which model it is so I know 100%

Don't glue the rear sponsons on use 3m red tape, the same thing you use on cars, if a mistake is made you can take them back off.

You can use screws & make four sliding nut boxes to adjust your rear sponsons with no silicone needed to seal the screws & no 3m tape needed. Adjust & go!

3m tape is what we have been using to put our sponsons on the back of the tub. From singles to Twin hydros it works perfect and will not come off at high speeds.

No bolting on rears or gluing we got away from that a long time ago.

Good for you! I'll stay with my quick screw on & adjust system mr RR.

Yup, 3m tape works great, simple and effective. They're selling the better black stuff at the big box stores now, it's much better than the grey.

Here's some setup instructions that will work well: http://1nitrorc.com/setup.htm

Not sure what hardware you have but I would put a rubber mount and flex shaft in vs the old style hard mount and solid shaft.

Quality hardware is at:

http://www.rossisales.com/

The SPDR-005-H is the go to for 20 boats: http://www.rossisales.com/MINIRUDDERS.html

The SPDSS-001-HR works well: http://www.rossisales.com/3-16STRUTS.html

SPDMM-008-STD is a great mount. http://www.rossisales.com/MOTOR-MOUNTS.html

Also you'll need a flex shaft and bushing, turn fin, pipe mount etc.

I saw you on our NLMBC F.B. page, where abouts are you?

ps: For some reason you're 2nd pic isn't opening...

pss: I wouldn't elongate the tube holes in the tub or do anything else until you have a good plan of attack!

Everyone has a different way of doing it. It works for me and a lot of other people. I'm not Mr. Roadrunner that's Ralph Almirola my name is Julian.
