compound grinding fixture

That's pretty cool. Usually I just use my sine vise and angle blocks to do the same.

Thanks Bob. I made this thing more than 30 years ago & it is not difficult to make. It Really comes in handy when grinding single point right hand & left hand threading tools. But then who is single pointing internal & external threads on different size diameters such as those found on the tuned pipe coupler shown. Hand tightening of the 32 pitch male & female pieces prevents any leak & it never comes loose.

I still single point threads all the time. I do lots of one offs for our PVD machines.

Me too Bob. The technique makes it possible to precisely fit any internal or external thread pitch on any size piece. I use it on my tuned pipe assemblies & the clamp nut on cable collet assemblies.
