Don,

Thanks for posting this for me. My IP address is still blocked for some reason I have to sign on through a proxy server just to get on the site. I wanted to let everyone know that we are now taking entries on RCRacingevents.com and we will post artwork for the t-shirts as soon as we get it.

Thanks

Carlo

Its just another heat race not a internats not worth the trip for me
Just like the Gas Nats are just another race , I guess that's why they sold out so quickly????

I think the Nitro crowd needs to embrace this format for it National event or watch the Internats die a quick and painful death , people need to move on and accept change.

I personally would love to go this year but unfortunately for me my kids are just starting back to school so I will not be able to attend.

To bad because from what I have herd this is an amazing venue for such a prestige's event.

Hey Tim;

I attended the 2010 NAMBA Nat's the Voodoo club hosted, Other than the heat, it was a great time.

The pictures I've seen of the rebuild of the lake are amazing.

As far as the format, I'm all for it, I attended the Nitro Nat's the Evansville club hosted and I liked it..

was just asking why there's no real chatter for this race???

Hey Rick

My post was not directed at you it was to the coment Peter made about it being just another race.

It's to bad some people have a dificult time accepting change because this could easily be one of the best events of the year and calling it just another race is an insult to the host club that has stepped forward to make all this possible for all of us .

Its all good Rick.

Well Peter really enjoys the Internats cause it has racing and time trials for US1. Lots of racing for the buck. Nitro nats is only heat racing and it is a good thing too, but not a Internats.

Some like Peter cant go cause of school age kids. I bet he would be interested if not for the late date.

Ricks correct about the VooDoo club races, it wont be boring or just another heat race. :)

The Louisiana Crowd Know how to put on a race.......... Great Race Site, Good Times & Plenty of Good Food. We have been down south louisiana R/C Racing many times & never had a bad trip. Katrina displaced Many Good Friends in IMPBA. The Voo Doo Club have reassembled many of them at this new pond site.

Hey Tim, I know it wasn't directed toward me,,, My comments were simply to "bolster" your comments.

and you ARE correct, the comments of "just another heat race" would really irritate me, if I were part of Carlo's crew.

On another note to Carlo and the Nitro Nat's host's,, I think it would be fitting for you to offer open mono & hydro, so you guys could run your boats also.

Pete was not slamming the club or the folks putting on the event. If you have not been to an Internats, it is hard for many folks to under stand Pete's comment. The event in New Orleans is another heat race with a New Orleans flare. I started going there for races in the late 70's.

The Internats format is a format that seperates it from all other "Heat Races". Also to win a US-1 is the most challenging event one can do to with a model racing boat. To win a US-1 is extremely difficult. It took years of going to the Nats for me to eventually get a US-1 in F-hydro and missed a US-1 in F-mono by 50 points.

Our club put the Internats on multiple times in the past in Huntsville and did well financially. In fact the record trials were the most profatible

Yes times have changed, economy, $3.80 gas and $100 night rooms and hard to get time off from work if you do have a job. Also the "SEQUESTER" some would also add to the list of negatives.

The concern about the length of time for the Internats is often raise. The reality is that it is not much longer than going to heat races. We are leaving on Tue or Early Wed Am to go to Hobert or Charleston or Atlanta to get a place for the trailer. SO if I was going to the Internats at anyone of those locals for example I would only miss 1.5 days more from work but would have 2-3 more days in the motel. So the time and money is a little more for the Internats than a "major" heat race but not a big difference.

To get a boat to do a straight away, oval time trial. and heat race and do well in all the events is incredibly difficult and a great "HIGH"

It is sad that those that comment negatively about the Internats format neverttry to compete at that level and may not have an opportunity to compete in an Internats Format.

BTW before John comments about last year, I missed that Nats due to a family wedding in Iowa. I could not get a flight out of Iowa in time to get to Charleston for the Nats. I truly missed being there. BTW I tried to get the wedding date changed but no cigar.

Tim,Thanks for the kind words and we are sorry to hear that you can not make it. I wholeheartedly agree that this race should be accepted as a very prestigious National event and not downplayed for any reason. I can tell you as a club we plan on treating it with the respect that it deserves. I don't know of many weekend heat races that have the prestige and history as this race. This is still the IMPBA Nitro Nationals and deserves a greater level of respect. This is where the best are supposed to show up and race the best. I don't think that happens at just any old weekend heat race. We will do our best to try and honor this race for what it is and make sure that everyone who does attend will have a great time and that is what we think is most important.

Rick,Thanks man for the kind comments. Our club has worked very hard to turn the facility into what it is and we enjoy hosting the big races as it is always a good time. I know that no matter what is done some will not be happy and we will just have to accept that and move on and try to make this event and format as enjoyable as we can for everyone who does attend. October in our area is the time of year when we have beautiful weather and that is why we worked so hard even with all the obstacles to find a date that would work.

Tim,It is no problem man, the comments like that are just like water off a duck's backside. I have however realized after all the hard work to make this event happen why this race has a hard time finding hosts. It will truly be a loss for the guys that have decided not to come and support there organization because of the format. This event will be a good time for all involved and that is more important then any format.

Rick,We really had not even considered it. I was actually considering putting a Tunnel together just for the race as I really enjoy watching those boats race and think it would be fun.

I think open mono and open hydro would be an excellent idea too
Tony,I will definitely bring it up at our next meeting and see what the guys think. I will also have to discuss it with Don and make sure that we can do that.

Guys,

I wish we were able to put on the Internats, but it is just not possible for a lot of reasons. Our facility is not suitable for any type of S.A.W. type of running and we just do not have the man power to put on a race that long as we do a few big races a year that require guys in the club to take time off from work and they must spread it out to make all this happen each year.

I'm hoping I can talk my wife Chris into making this race, I would really like to make it.

I know Bob Johnson has already voiced his wanting to attend, so I just need to start the diplomatic process of making the race.
