Best D2 race for Nitro?

We are thinking about making the 10 hour trip to the Detroit area for a race. What is the best race for Nitro? Is there anything comparable to Mendota, where people from other districts travel for a specific race?

Celina Ohio.

The Scale guys in D2 are tough to beat. The Sport 40 class is always good. They have a good Nitro count.

I travel from Louisville KY. It’s about a 4 -5 hour drive from us. We haven’t been in a while do to some other issues but plan on going back soon.

For the Detroit area specifically, there are 3 races that you could pick from. In June will be the Mini Gold Cup at Kelly Lake in Burton. August the transom twisters have a race at Kelly Lake. In September is the OWMBC race at Spencer Park in Rochester. Spencer Park usually has the highest boat count. We typically run A,B,D hydro classes and if enough interest is there a combo E-F hydro. Sport 20 is getting popular. Sport 40 and Scale are always big turn outs and pretty good competition.
