    Camille the French speedfreak

Christian, this is my last and final warning to you: if you will ever post any further lies about me or the JAGs team again, you will hear from my lawyer. Is that clear? The truth is: 1. Back in 2006 at the LA SAWs the group of racers sat down and discussed LiPo rules for 2007. We came to the...

VOTE HERE for which FE class you want at the 09 tunnel Worlds!

The perfect OPC electric motor would have a thicker, but hollow shaft, so you could stick the cable through the motor and fix it with a coupler ontop. I've seen this done with LMT motors and piano wire on a H&M micro tunnel. Should work well with cable and bigger motors too - if a motor...

    storage of batteries

The link I posted was basically aiming at LiIon laptop batteries - but these are Li based as well and basically a very similar chemistry to what is use in LiPo cells. Anyway, it makes sence that ageing of any chemical battery is higher the higher the temperatures are. Second, it is well known...

    storage of batteries

http://www.batteryuniversity.com/parttwo-34.htm Base on the above I recommend to store them cold and with only 20-40% capacity. Before use, bring them to room temperature and discharge them at 1C to 3.3V. Then charge them normally. Warm them externally before usage. Joerg

Kill Switch or Power Loop Plug

We used to have power loop plugs for all boats and they are still required for NAVIGA oval racing. The main reason is safty, another is handling of ready to race boats before the race: with the power loop plug (and using a BEC) you can tape your boat during the previous race without it beeing...

Are there any "happy FE boaters" left?

Summary of NAMBA FE rule Proposals for 2008

Doug, as I said many times above, I'll let you guys play your game. - Rahm is still the same party, as the lake and water conditions are usually not that perfect. A really nice place to go are the Austrian SAWs too. A beautifull lake in the Alps near Salzburg. Darin, how about if you just keep...

Summary of NAMBA FE rule Proposals for 2008

Sport Hydro's and Cat's are only run in the limited 700 size motor classes in Germany. 14 cells before, now 4s1p LiPo or 5s2p LiFePO4. Around 40mph, maybe 45mph. Mono's range from around 40-45mph (7 cells/2s1p) probably up to expected 55-60mph (20cells), but I don't know exactly and these are...

Summary of NAMBA FE rule Proposals for 2008

Darin, unsharpen your pencil. 1/16 was obviously a typo, just too many 6 in a row. You run a 1/10 mile oval, which is just a bit shorter than the Naviga oval. That was the message. I have to disagree. 5 laps on a 1/5 mile oval with a 4s2p rigger should not take much over 70s. All 1 mile nitro...

Summary of NAMBA FE rule Proposals for 2008

One of the 60mph setups I know is Arne's and Gunnar's hydro 1. It runs on a 2s1p last years 20C TP5000 cells, an old Hacker B50L/5 and our standard Schulze 149 controller. Prop is either a modified X438 or modified P215. I expect a little bit more with 130g, 5500mAh cells, but lift needs to be...

Summary of NAMBA FE rule Proposals for 2008

Naviga has'nt decided on LiPo or LiFePO4 yet. There will be a decission at the worlds in Warsaw, Poland this summer. Germany (Nauticus) will propose LiPo rules as follows, other countries may propose different rules. Hydro1/Mono1/Eco (7cell classes): LiPo, 2s1p, 280g max. Hydro2/Mono2...

Summary of NAMBA FE rule Proposals for 2008

Well, I should have cept my mouth shut, like I did the last 6 months. After that post, I'll continue to do so. The whole discussion is not about me, me coming from Germany, me staying in NAMBA or not or me racing oval with you guys. I'm not that important. But it's about messing up the FE...

Summary of NAMBA FE rule Proposals for 2008

Do these length limits apply for hydro and for SAWs too? Just hull length or complete boats? How are you going to measure that - lets say a rigger where the furthest points (sponsons and prop) and are not in one line? After allowing 10Ah/12Ah last year (which BTW is still impossible to judge!)...

Paul? You'r still alive? And still fighting? Come on. Be a good boy. And I'm sorry you did'nt get the irony in that particular post, although, I'm a bit surprised you read it... Joerg P.S. I'm just eating a kraut salad. Honestly. Delicious.

just a question about a possible 15cc mono conversion

My take would be to run the boat light, at similar weight as the nitro boat, but higher RPM. The above setups are more powerfull, but also heavier and spin only nitro RPM. Bascially I'd go for a Lehner 2280 or 3040 motor, a Schulze 40.160 controller, 12s1p (5000mAh) and RPM in the 30k+ range...

ive just finished an electric mono , on 6s

My dear Darin, there is a HUGE difference between 6s2p with a total of 4200mAh (a 50-60A setup) compared to what you guys run: 4s2p of 5000mAh cells (a 200A+ setup). That's why Brian needs to run a motor and a controller which costs about 4 times more than what Jason installed (motor $330...

ive just finished an electric mono , on 6s

Paul, I don't know what's your problem, but you are right: you hijacked the thread. And as long as you don't pay your gambling debts, I don't take you seriously anyway. Jason, I would'nt go smaller with the prop and as you got the motor and controller, you may want to try to run the boat only...

ive just finished an electric mono , on 6s

Paul, you guys run 4s2p in a 33" hulls, that's 8 LiPo cells. He ran only 6 cells - but all in series, what makes more sence anyway. Looking at the picture and comparing the size of the motor to the hull, the boat is bigger than 21". So 21 did'nt mean length, it was a boat for a 0.21cu (3.5cc)...
