Terry, Looks like a sidewinder to me!!!

Not sure where the CG is on your hull but I prefer to use (2) 2S packs and keep the weight down low by placing them end to end. It helps in the turns. I run a VS1 currently but have used the same setup in other hulls.

This is most likely the problem. Long straight sections of the stuffing tube usually allow the cable to whip. On lower RPM gas boats it usually is not an issue (besides you cant hear it whipping in a gasser but you can measure the temp of the stuffing tube). But on higher RPM motors the .250...

A 3060 is a lot of motor for an 1/8th scale. Since they pull alot of amps 2P (extra weight) is recommended. I prefer to keep it lighter with a 10s1p set up (plett 370/a1). It's easier to turn a lighter hull opposed to a 20 pounder. Others use a neu 1527. 60 mph is not exactly sport running...

Your hull is looking really nice Spoon. Bob mounted his tail feathers somewhat like Harry Gatjens did. But instead of the the aluminum mount he used a small right angle nylon bracket. 2 for each tail feather. I'll try to post some shots later for you.

Since I really don't know what the hull looks like under the skin it's not easy to compare. Bob did build it lighter than the kit but bow how much I'm not sure. Spoons build is definitely to far side for lightness. Wish I could build that well. But this thread encourages me want to make one...

Well thank you for the information guys. From my experience running Fe sprot hydros I tend to stick with the fuller style sponson. I like having the lifting surface to keep the nose up. Then again I am usally running a heavier setup than nitro with 5#plus of batts usually in most forward area...

Spoon, I'm not sure who did the graphics. Maybe if you pm Bob Morton here he could tell you. Those sponsons are definitely different. Kind of narrow. Is that a dehydrol(sp?) I see in that design?

What is/are the difference between my sponsons and the one's you are going to build? AOA? Depth?
