    2007 internats

Hey Everyone- Glenn and I have decided that the 2007 internats are more than our schedules will tolerate. I appreciate all of the initial enthusiasm and volunteers, but it simply is not feasible. Also, thare had been some talk about another club using Blue Lake as the 2007 internats host...

    2007 Internats

I don't know a lot about organizing heat races, much less anything on the scale of the internats. The only race (other than time trials) I've really been involved in is the one Glenn and I (mostly Glenn) put on here in Valdosta. I did, however, learn quite a lot from the "winter invitational."...

    2007 Internats

Rod- It was actually YOUR idea. Glenn told me that you were interested, so I started giving it some serious thought. Blue Lake is in Valdosta, GA, off exit 13 on I-75...13 miles north of the Florida state line. The site is awesome, and the area in general is very accomodating and...

    2007 Internats

Hey Guys- Glenn and I have been discussing the possibility of hosting the 2007 Internats at Blue Lake in Valdosta. For anyone who's seen Blue Lake...we would be racing from the other side. I could handle the infrastructure myself, but I would need a committed team of experienced hosts and/or...

    Really fast airboats???

This probably isn't the place to ask...but why not... Didn't those props all appear to be @ 5-6"? Seems to be a weird size. 8 or so inches is what I've found as far as .20 size pylon props, and, to get any real pitch it looks like you'd need a 9" (based on what I've seen). Some of those...

    Valdosta

I would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended the trials. I would also like to thank all of our sponsors for backing the event. This is the first time trial in which we had any substantial funding, and it makes all of the difference in the world. I've always wanted to improve the...

    Valdosta Speedweek III

Nope, haven't ordered it yet. GQ thinks he may have a new one in his stash. I hope you're sending me a 96" catamaran with one of those self-starting turbines and an on board electronic fuel regulator with a 10 channel stick radio that's been cleared by the FCC to run on surface frequencies...

    Valdosta Straight Lines

Great job with the web site. It's sweet.

    Valdosta Speedweek III

Yeah boy...it's running. Just to paint a picture...bouy #5 was 110 feet fom the bank...and Glenn made it from one to the other...without getting the boat wet...sweet. That is one faaaaaaaaast cat!!! Kudos to Aeromarine...they lay some solid 'glass, and the MAC aint too shabby either. The...

    Valdosta Speedweek III

Congratulations to everyone who set records last week...and thanks to everyone else who attended. I know the weather was hit and miss, but Friday made up for it. Too bad you had to leave Don...we had the water you were waiting on. It's hard to single out a particular boater for praise, since...

    Speed Week III

It's not so much the speed as it is the direction. Out of the NW is bad, almost anything else can be tolerable...especially for larger boats. If it gets too bad I'll close the motorized roof...but it'll take at least three people...two men to guide the rollers...and one to operate the winch...

    Speedweek

Hey everyone- Speedweek is fast approacing. It will be a blast as always...just ask anyone who's been. The water is looking beautiful since we added the spent uranium. The weeds WILL NOT be an issue. It will be the entire week after Christmas, including New Years weekend. We'll have good...

    Please Help ??? on Pipe

I was having similar problems. Based on my experience, I'm not sure the problem is drag or load related, which encompasses all of the strut angle, AOA, sponson, etc... I had a MAC 67 that would eat plugs and "go lean" every run, regardless of hull type or prop. I went through the whole large...

    "New Motor" MAC / CMB

I agree, you should run the AB 67 as is. But, for a while, many people were thinking that the size of the baffle was creating some problems, and were consequently drilling them out. That's when you have the potential for a lean condition. Mine was drilled out, and I ended up needing a .410...

    .12 pipes

Hey Andy- You should talk to Glenn. He'd be interested to hear about your project, he's done a lot of R&D with the whole .12 pipe issue, besides, I don't know too many people with more .12 rigger/engine/pipe knowledge. Ya'll could bounce some ideas off of each other.

    "New Motor" MAC / CMB

I've had great success with both the AB 67 & parabolic pipes, but here's a helpful note. If you drill the the internal baffle on the AB 67, you'll need to insert a stinger. If you don't you may not have a sufficient amount of fuel being pushed back into the head, and you'll go lean. Trust me...

    radio box tape

Hey Guys- Here's the lowdown on the 3M tape. The part # is 05, but you can't order it from 3M. That tape is a proprietary product that they make for a particular end-user, who is then selling it through their various distribution chains. How do I know that...and am I full of shiest? I'm in...

    GAS ENGINE

I can vouch for that. I've seen John run his MAC/CMD carbs on gas riggers for a few years now. They've always been reliable. The typical small 2-stroke gas carbs have always been a pain in my a$$...too many parts...ONE moving part is MUCH better...but that's just my opinion

    OPS bearings?

I do have 4 head bolts, and the head is red and finned. The .070" skirt deal is just an inside joke. I accidently took .070 from the skirt of my MAC piston, and everyone started yelling at me. I'll look closely at my motor tonight for some definite markings. Jason

    OPS bearings?

One more thing...do they make the pistons with .070 removed on the exhaust side of the skirt?
