Then and today. This old fart was right behind the dude that shot this video in Sept. \m/

Ray please don't do that again............to much reality for me to handle.................. I need to keep the dream alive...........

Thats very impressive work Dave , when are you planning on running it ??
The plan is Andy is building and testing a new boat for the OPS .90 big block eng .

He said he will come down to the pond in Orlando and we will slap this thing in that boat to test.

David

Very clever with the caliper etc. Can't wait to see how it runs.

I had some words of wisdom passed on to me from my good bud Eric Canto from Don Pinkert.

It is only 3 moving parts don't over think it.

So I try not to over think things any more and make them harder than thy need to be.

OK so here is the way I will stuff the case some and make a flow ramp to direct the air up over the disk drive.

Just using a small piece of wax paper as the release and install the disk.

I will smooth it out some as it starts to set with my finger and some spit.

Will post pics after it has set and after the grinding is all done.

O and DEVCON will not come loose .....I use this in my Merc 2.5L V6 out board also and fixed the hole the rod put in the VAC 1.05 eng block.

I love this new forum front it is so easy to post pics as you go.

OK got the bearing and thy look killer.

$72 to the door custom built full complement ceramic balls.

Thy feel good.  Plenty of radial clearance to not heat up. Nice end play on the crank .

Not worth doing them my self at that price.

I run this type of bearing in my VAC 1.05 and my RS 1.01 for years now.

It works killer. I wear the sleeves and piston out before the bearings.

Had a set in my 1.01 that has seen 2 P/L worn out and still ran smooth.

Never had a ceramic bearing fail on me yet when set up like this.

who is doing your bearings David?
This is a new place I found.

After Greg passed away I eater had to do it my self or find some one new.

Too much $$ in buying balls of different sizes.

This is the first time I have tried them. You have to wait for them to make it to your Spec. Took about 6 weeks.

Just have to put in the notes when you order what radial clearance you want.

.0008 to.0012 on inside bearing and .0004 to.0008 on the fly wheel end bearing.

The clearance is what makes them work so good. That and all those balls to carry the load. Twice as much as a caged bearing.

If the turbine eng use them to 100,000+ RPM thy must be good.............
