Congrats on your Bronze metal finish Niklas!

It was no easy task to make the finals. Everyone had to win heats to make the top eight and there was no room to drop a heat.

Seven heats of fierce head to head racing! Makes for true World Champions!

Congrats to Kjell Gunner! On top of his game as usual!

No, it is not cheap to attend and compete in Europe. I flew to Vienna, rented a car and stayed one night near the airport. One day drive to Oroshasza which means you have to buy a permit to use the Hungarian highways. Eight nights in Oroshasza at a hotel where you have your own shower and toilet. Drive back to Vienna, one night near the airport and catch the plane home. I'd say the minimum would be $3500 including registration and fuel.

I'm staying another week to hike around the Alps. That adds some to the total cost.

But it is a marvelous experience.

WOW, well that answers that then lol.. i would love to go but MAN.. little to much for my broke butt.

maybe some day

:p you will be disqualyfied in seconds with 86dB

80 / 82 dB is compulsory over here.

There are only two choises ... steel or aluminium.

Best silenced racing-exhausts and widely used over here are :

The steel-pipes from Dave Marles and the aluminium CMB's

Wether you like them or not .. and maybe you're thinking they are robbing power ....

When racing in Europe you will have to use them , so buy a European pipe of your choise

and set-up your riggers to run on them. Good speeds are possible ...

there are several Europeans in Andy's 100M-club.

Many people are running the Kalistratov pipes on the 3.5cc engine available in the USA from Crazy Al. Also, there will be an A/A 7.5cc pipe that is lower than the 80db. I ran the prototype and it was never a problem. Running quiet is not that difficult. Allan is already below 80 db with the K21 pipe.

If you are Canadian, Canada has to join NAVIGA, no problem. I have already tried to encouraage some Canadians to attend, but as Canada has not joined NAVIGA, they could not run.

No rule for the nitro, you can do what you want

Hello

It would be great to see strong teams from the US and Canada at the next Worlds in 2012!

It is 24 month to the next Worlds, so if you save like $150 each month until then......

I also think that you could trim the costs a little.

Noise level - To give you an idea, if you run a 21 Hydro with an original FAT 21 pipe, you are almost legal, one day it will be within the limits and the next you could be like 1dB over. Wind directions and many other things affects this.

It is not a big issue, if your approach is correct.

Hello

Good to see some interest to get a strong team together from North America.

The location for the 2012 Worlds has not been decided yet.

Jorgen

I believe (might want to check with Al Hobbs or Andy)

you need to belong to NAMBA as well.

From the USA you must be a member of NAMBA. As no one in Canada has decided to join NAVIGA, the organization can be any of the organizations now running in Canada. Someone has to have been paying the NAVIGA fees every year for their organization before members can enter any NAVIGA events. The NAVIGA fees are not that expensive except sometimes the Euro is a bit high and the North American banking fees add to the costs.

You can make arrangements to buy nitro, methanol and oil at the race site, then mix your own fuel. This does not allow you to choose the oil you want.

Your boat must be set up to display the racing number cards, which is not difficult and you must use a transponder. Also, you must use frequencies approved by the host country. The 75 band is not allowed in Europe. This year, the host country accepted 2.4. Italy would not accept 2.4 in 2008.

Next, be patient and accept the fact that the rules are different from what you are used to seeing.

The 2012 site has not yet been announced. To this point no country has offered to host the next NAVIGA World Championships.

A little bird told me that Germany is trying to get the WC-2012 organised.

And hip hip hurray for the (for us) new FSR-V-25 / FSR-H-25 and FSR-O-25 classes.

The 35 class will remain .. but I'll doubt it will live on much longer.

Huge hulls , expensive engines .

Competing with a 25cc engine against a 35cc engine seemed not fair.

Although my buddy Marc Weijenberg became 4th with a 25cc (CC-Pro-mod or M&D) engine ,

just 2 seconds after Chris Hoff with his 35cc engine (CMB or SG)

Maybe CMB or SG is seeing now a market for a serious racing engine.

A reed-engine would make the most power I think ... but a Zimmermann-disk would be easyer to maintain.

Yes, I heard that some of the Germans were hoping to host in 2012. But, I was told that they do not have their national organization's approval at this time.

I think that Germany would be a good choice for me as it is easy to get flights to Berlin or Frankfort.
