    Small business question

Sorry for the OT post here. But I have been too busy to come to the web site as much as I used to, and see that OT posts are creaping back up here. I fear my OT post in the OT section won't be seen if they are all up here again. Anyhow, I put a post in the OT section asking for suggestions...

    Small business question

Looking for a software solution to track and calculate payments for items financed through a small business. Owner said that the software he found that he likes is $10k. This is a single storefront general store that can't afford to pay that kind of $$$ for software. 60-70% of all sales are...

    Prop selection for sub-surface seaducer?

Buddy of mine has an older seaducer mono. I don't know the exact model, but it is a subsurface .45 mono. It has a CMB gold head in it. He lost the prop that was on it when his flex shaft failed, and never knew what the prop was (If I recall correctly, the numbers were worn off it). All I...

    Update on the toilet

Finally got around to hauling it to the dump (been on my back stoop this whole time). I smashed the trap in it while it was on my tailgate, ready to throw in the dumpster. Attached are some pics of what I found. I take it the plastic was part of the porcelain molding process and is not...

Is there a general rule about pipe volume??

If I change pipes on an engine to one that has a larger volume, or smaller volume, is there a general rule of thumb about pipe length?? From what one person said, I am understanding that a smaller volume needs a longer length, but don't know if this works, if I am over thinking what he said, or...

    Time for a new radio...

Been using a futaba 3PM-FS for a couple years. I think the transmitter is going bad on it. One of my boats went into circles at about half throttle (no fail safe) during the race this weekend in OK city. When I brought it in, every time I turned it on it drove the throttle open, and then when...

    IMPBA person here??

I know someone here helped someone before with their online IMPBA membership. We signed up May 19th online and have not heard anything, other than from paypal saying our payment went through. My oldest sent a check in, and short of it being cashed, she has not heard anything either. Supposed...

    OD plugs on sale

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LM2140&P=E These look the same shape as the OD #88 that I use. Reason I say this, is that some of the plug igniters don't lock onto them too well....so just a heads up. I do like how the OD #88 perform though... Never heard of any boat folks...

    New button is turning black...why??

OK...went to the pond with the new button in the .18 GO engine. Probably ran 10 or 12 runs. Started with an x440 and a longer pipe length, wound up with a Y535 and a shorter pipe length. We ran out of time and were making some speed gains just prior to leaving. Last thing I was doing was...

Flex cables for the MV and Deuce

Awhile back tower was out of flex cables for the Miss Vegas and Deuce. I think this was probably due to the tight bushing on the Deuce (high breakage rate). I talked with Steve at off shore electrics, and he said there was not an octura stub that accepted a 150 cable and had a 1/8th prop...

    GO .18 engine

Awhile back I had said that I had received a GO engine and would like to try it out. Well, I got some more time with it recently, and would like to pass on what I think I have figured out. First off, the engine seemed to have high torque out of the box. It would pretty easily turn an X440...

2nd try at a head button

Here is my second try at making a head button. It is too tight in the cylinder, and the chamber is not as large as I was shooting for. The stock one has a .11 CC chamber. To get the clearance right, and get the CR down to 10 to 1 or lower, I was shooting for .21 CC. Wound up at .17 CC. Sean

2 flute for 4 flute mill for aluminum?? I don't own a mill yet, and it will be a little while before I get one...but going to need to use my drill press or the lathe to bowl out head buttons until I do get one. I have been buying cheap carbide cutters for my lathe. How long will HSS last...

    Head volume measurement for EAP

What I have been trying to do, is measure the head volume with the plug installed, that I will use when I run that engine. I don't know how much of a difference different brands and models of plugs have, but since .01 CC can make a big difference in CR, I felt this was important. I even...

    Harbor Freight Metal Lathe

I know Harbor Freight tools are hit and miss...mainly miss. But I know some guys swear by some of their tools (HVLP spray guns, nail guns, etc). Does anyone have any experience with their mini metal lathe?? I found an opportunity to pick one up a little bit on the cheap, and was wondering if...
