Kevin,

What propeller was that ?

Carbon pipe at what length ?

I have a few more ideas for you.

Looking pretty good so far, I love the camerawoman.

How sweet is that " daddy I like to go boating with you it's fun "

She did a nice job on the video. And you could see all the bugs in the video.

You need more RPM, I think I may have another pipe for you to test ?

I am heading to the pond now before church to test a few more options myself.

I will call you later or you can call me before 9 PM EST.

Thanks For Sharing,

Mark Sholund

Short on time only had 2 good runs before I had to pack up,,, stinking wind took 2 hours of testing from me....

What I learned was get good heat in engine before launching... For some reason I completely forgot this step yesterday...

Little more than half gallon through the motor.

SPP pipe 6.5" .250" stinger 40x53 50% Grim Orlic .275 carb.

Was going to test propellers then switch to my Raptor 12 pipe and repeat, but the place I was at only allows running till sunset.

Of course when I left the pond was dead calm....

Kevin I thought your boat looked pretty good after it got warmed up a little. Here is mine from yesterday:

Setup:

Jae

Novarossi .12 5 port

Orlic carb

Bauss carbon texan pipe at 2.5"

Props 4 U 40 x 53

Novarossi turbo plug #5

Home brew 60% with 9% oil (klotz)

I don't recommend running 9% oil. Do it at your own risk. I just do it in the .12 cause I figure if it blows up its not a real expensive replacement

Yeah that's stupid fast!!! looks like I need to find 30 more mph:)

Very nice Greg nice and smooth hope to be half that speed.

Greg,

12 boat looks good on the water.

9% oil is plenty with a rich side needle.

Working on some new ABC propellers for

the 12 Hydros. They are going to have 7 degrees

more rake angle in them. The newest 1815 & 1817

With 17 degrees of rake angle are testing pretty well

right now at Cedar Lake here in Traverse City. I need

a camera person.

Thanks For Sharing The Video,

Mark Sholund

Thanks Mark. I appreciate all the help you gave to get me there. You're probably right about the 9% oil. I ran it most of last summer in two different .12's without issue. i would like to see some video of your boats. Maybe I will see them in person at Hobart this summer.

If 12 are going to run in masses in Hobart

Maybe thats the place to plain to be.

Time to see if I can whos game to be there

Greg,

My daughter is getting married this year on the Hobart week.

I will not be there this year unfortunately. I just wish I had someone who

could come and video my boats running. Not a lot of interest up here in

Traverse City,MI.

Thanks,

Mark Sholund

Went to the local speed run had a good time. first run hit a turtle or fish... Kicked the rudder and turn fin back and dented the turn fin:( Didn't have my setup board so adjusted the turn fin back the best I could.

After some struggles and a pipe change to the Raptor pipe I hit 48mph. Got to get it on the board and see what's up.

Thank you Greg for the help!!!

Local boaters lent some help and props to my friend and got his tired 21 cmb powered JAE to gain 14 mph. He was pretty excited,, was his first time at the pond. But he needs to find another 10-15

Fun day overall Bob Bonahoom went 82 to take the fastest man on the water title!!!

That sucks that you won't make it, Mark.

I'm seriously thinking about making the trip this year. I was really looking forward

to meeting you among others finally.

Ken,

You will have them all done this year.

It helps to get some experience at any race before Hobart.

The most consistant boat usually wins the biggest prizes.

Hobart is a Great Racing Event, it is one to put on your

Bucket list for sure.

Thanks,

Mark Sholund
