I'd like some opinions on the use of old fuel.

I have several gallons of 60% Red Max that is around 10 years old.

Is this fuel usable anymore?

Yes, if it has been stored in a cool place and has not been opened, look very close at the fuel to seei if you can see something like hair in side the bottle, do not shake it up, if no hair, I would try alittle of it, you see the hair it's no good, I have used fuel that is 6 years old with no problems, also if you see droplets in the fuel it's not good as the droplets are water.

Thanks Walt,

I have at least 6 unopened gallons that I will inspect.

If it looks good I'll try it in a non valuable engine.

What Walt said.

Plus as long as it's filtered going into the boat or between the tank and needle it really isn't going to hurt anything. It will run or run bad. It's worth trying.

After a carful inspection of the fuel I added 2 oz of castor and 1 oz of Klotz techniplate.

Gave it A good mix and ran it in a non valuable engine. There seems to be no problem with the old fuel...
