I have an unknown .18 engine and it has an O.S carby on it. Should I set the needles as per the O.S site for a .18 engine?

Cheers, Brett.

Its an OS carb, use the OS settings but a little richer, Ive made some hybrids before and always went with whats suggested for the carb that went on it not the engine---an OS carb VS a no name carb needle threads etc may be different (most likely are) so if you set the OS carb at the no name carb specks you may be really rich or really lean

Example

I believe the Traxxas 3.3 carb is 4 turns out on the high side

and if i remember right the OS 18 carb is 2 or 2.5 turns out on the high side

SO if you had an OS carb on the 3.3 and went with the 3.3 carb settings you most likely would never get the engine to fire and if you did it would be sobering rich other hand slap the 3.3 carb on the OS and use the OS settings you would burn the engine up (if it started) as it would be to lean

Hope all that made sense, hell I almost got lost myself typing it up lol
