James is an excelent choice. A good unselfish racer and knows outboards well. I don't understand not letting people in the hobby business help out. For the most part they have exactly the qualifications we need. I have yet to see anyone abuse their power in favor of their business interests. More often they go out of their way to not be predudicial. We need the input from everyone.
It would be nice if all districts (Impba & Namba) would have an individual outboard director. Would be an assist to the National cause. When I started racing in the 80's OB's were accomodated. From what I see we still hold our own in entries at local and national races. Maybe we aren't the fastest boats on the water but far from a beginers class 21 tunnel may be one of the most difficult to win consistently. On to Charleston!!!!!!!!
